The Real Ghost Hunters (2024)
Worth A Watch
Ok, so I watch a lot of this kinda thing and I love it, but despite that I am able to tell, between genuine ghost hunts and those put on for the camera.
Having said that, this one is one hundred percent genuine, and it has a truly authentic feel, that convinces you that these guys, are the real deal.
I enjoyed this a lot, as many of the investigations, were very interesting and some genuine things happened, that were definitively paranormal in nature.
This documentary film, was well edited, with suitable music, that helped you get into the correct frame of mind, for this kind of thing. Well worth a watch for sure.
The Life of Jesus (2024)
Very Detailed And Well Put Together
I have watched a few documentaries on Jesus Christ, as I find the subject fascinating. I am not religious myself, just interested in the history of it all, as I can not make my mind up, if Jesus really did exist, and if he did, was he the son of God.
The documentary film, gives a balanced view of things, that mainly deals with fact from the gospels, whilst delivering an entertaining ride, with well thought out imagery and very well placed music, that gives a great sense of the time and place.
I could argue about one or two points made in the film, but there is little point, because so much of the life of Jesus is questionable, what with the different accounts in the various gospels.
The Witch Hunt - The History of the Witch Hunt (2023)
Enjoyable
Well I must say I really enjoyed this, as it was full of details, I did not already know and that is my favourite thing about documentary films, when they educate me and open up new interests in my mind.
I often watch documentaries on subjects, I do not already have an interest in, because every now and again it sparks an interest, which I did not already have and I must say that has been the case, with this documentary film.
I had no idea, that witches and the history of witches, was so rich. I have always thought of them as being pure evil and now I have had my eyes opened and want to watch more.
How the Sicilian Mafia Began (2023)
An eye opener
This was well worth a watch, as it opened my eyes to the origins of the mafia, in a way I had never thought of before, which is interesting as I have watched loads of gangster films and really enjoyed them.
I had no idea, this thing called the mafia, runs so deep and was so interesting in its complexity, as it is so connected to the history, of the island of Sicily.
I was obviously aware, that the mafia came from Italy and Sicily, but had literally no knowledge of the political situation, that gave rise to it, so for that, I am very happy to priase this documentary film, as a real eye opener. Glad I watched it.
Al Capone: The Facts About Al Capone (2023)
Very Enjoyable
When I watch a documentary, I like it to be educational, emotional and entertaining and this documentary had all three. Ok, not that much emotion, but still a little.
This documentary film, was very detailed and it also delivered, on the educational side also, with its comprehensive approach to Al Capone's life.
It also runs at a good length, which is great, because I find a lot of documentary films, are either way too short, leaving you want to know more, or they drag to the point, that you get bored and the entertainment factor is ruined.
I would honestly recommend to any one, who is interested in gangster history or history in general.
How Zombies Could Happen (2023)
Comprehensive
This documentary film, is a very comprehensive and detailed, piece of work, that brings the zombie concept, into reality.
I love it when a documentary, takes on a subject that is taboo, or is considered silly or myth, and brings it into reality, by talking scientifically about, how it could actually be possible.
Many people laugh at the idea of zombies, but having watched this documentary film, it will certainly be harder for them to do so, as it makes the concept plausible, with fact driven discussion, that is hard to argue against.
Probably the best documentary, I have watched on zombies. Well worth a watch.
Jesus - Is Jesus Real (2023)
A Fairly balanced And Interesting Documentary
This documentary opened my eyes and informed me, to much of the debate, as to whether or not Jesus, Actually existed.
What I particularly liked about it, is that it asks two questions:
1, Was there a man called Jesus, on which the stories from the gospels, were based?
2, Was he the son of god and able to do miracles?
This documentary is clever in how it breaks down, these questions, with a lot of insight into the culture of Judea, as a back drop for the belief, in a story like Christ.
This helps to understand the minds of the people, who either witnessed Christ perform miracles, or made the story up, or simply embellished it, by adding the miracles in.
We hear about different groups of scholars, from both sides of the argument and why they take the position they have.
A well balanced and informative piece.
Nuclear War (2022)
A Documentary That Opened My Eyes
Not really the sort of thing, I watch, but I came across it, and have to say, once it got started, I was hooked.
This documentary informs and entertains, from the get go, with its fast pace, and fantastic use of imagery and motion graphics.
It covers everything, I would want a documentary to cover on this subject, from the nature of mankind, to the political history that has led to these weapons being created, to the technicality of how, such a device works and the history of its development from fission to fussion.
Well worth a watch for anyone, who is interested in mankind's survival, and even if your not, this film will open your eyes, to the dangers we are all in.
