Perfect Addiction (2023)
Watched Perfect Addiction in theaters!
I watched Perfect Addiction on the 2nd night's showing in U. S. theaters! I was surpringly entertained. I enjoyed the characters, the fight scenes, and the steamy romance scenes! There were no slow parts and I was rooting for the protagonist to not only get her revenge, but to find someone who deserved her and to show what she was capable of for herself. I like how at the end we see that she finally gains her confidence when it comes to her own talents. I recommend this flick. I hope there are more adaptations based on the rest of the books in the series! Waiting to watch it again when it becomes available to stream in the U. S.
Vampire Academy (2022)
VA Book Lovers, remember this is an Adaptation, not a Replica!
I'm truly enjoying the Vampire Academy show on PeacockTV! 💜 As a VA book fan, I went into the show aware that adaptations are never exact replicas. And the movie was also a separate adaptation that focused more on humor and high school drama, but the show is a different adaptation and looks to follow the books better with the darker tone. The books are amazing, if you haven't read them yet, you should! Yes, the cast isn't exactly as described, because no cast has ever been 100% what millions of people imagine... impossible. The story flows a bit differently, but all of the favorite book moments seem ti be popping up (6 episodes in so far) and I LOVE it! Yes, it has differences, but it works and goes beyond what the books were able to. We get more than just Rose's perspective in the story which widens the storyline and goves us a chance to get to really know all the other characters deeper as well. We can learn the backstories of characters instead of just hearing about them "after the fact," like with Mikhail and Sonya Karp, Christian's parents, the Dragomirs accident, and Tatiana trying to come up, for starters. I get them wanting the cast to be more diverse, so it can reflect our real world. And from interviews, they said they made casting about who seemed to have the essence of the characters be the main priority, more than just who had the right hair color or was a visual replica. Hair color is not that serious or that big of a deal. And they hit the nail on the head! THE CAST IS GREAT and truly capture the personas of the characters! After all, what one reader imagines wouldn't ever match what someone else imagines. Again, impossible.
Now that some of the story is different in sole ways, but still like the books in other ways, I love that we're getting tocsee the stories happen that the book only "told" us about but never showed us. The fact that the story has extra added storyline to it gives it an excitement even for book readers because if you read the books 100 times like me, you'll still get to enjoy the surprises with people who've never read the books! I'd say judge it after you actually watch it. And NO, the Vampire Academy world does NOT have anything to do with TVD. I highly recommend this show! I dont get why the rating is a bit low, im sure it's
from people who would hate it regardless that its good, or who wanted an exact replica of people's description in the books. #VampireAcademy.
