A deeply personal film about the effects of rape
6 October 2022
Haunted by her experience, Anna retreats to solitude in a remote mountain cabin, that can only be reached on foot. Cut off from everyone she knew, and with only occasional forays into town to get supplies, she gradually begins to process what happened. But the effects of rape are sometimes physiological as well as psychological...

Manuela Vellés effectively captures the spectrum of emotions experienced by a rape victim/survivor. Copious alcohol and gardening keep her going.

I would have liked to see more pushback against what was done to her: she had the entire event recorded on her phone - why not pursue the perpetrator? Why be a victim? Of course, it's her (Anna's) story, but nevertheless I'm mystified that the victim accepts the immense burden of the consequences... (no spoilers here)

And what was with the bunny?

I was amazed at the film-making: either the sfx were top-notch, or this was filmed over the course of a year with absolute dedication to telling a story. Very rare to see anything like this!

I didn't enjoy it (of course, one can't), but this is definitely a worthy addition to the relatively small collection of movies about the real and lasting effects of rape on an individual.

Quirky representation of serious issues
15 August 2022
I really enjoyed this, unlike many other reviewers here. I can't accuse this movie of being stereotypical, simply because so few movies actually address the issues portrayed here.

The way it DID portray those issues though was simplistic and comedic. It's more of a representation of those issues, rather than a serious depiction of them, and there's nothing wrong with that. There were some misguided moments. But I really appreciate the hints of something darker, and it left me wanting a lot more.

The acting was OK for what the movie was trying to do. It's a fluffy comedy, quit griping!

I really hope there's a sequel.
