A movie with existential crisis
15 May 2024
When I saw the trailer I expected this to be in the same level as Wonka and the Paddington films due to the way the movie looked. But after I saw it I think it tries to make homages to plot points from Pixar movies + The Muppets (2011) and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends but it ends up looking like a ripoff that's supposed to be an family animated movie but it's too dark and slow despite the main attraction being colourful animated characters in a live action enviroment. Ryan Reynolds acting feels like he is in pain for starring in this film and his character feels forced into the story due to John Krasinski portraying the dad better than him and the humor is on illumination level such as farts jokes and the purple monster doing an extremely annoying sound.

A frankenstein monster film
2 May 2024
I have been waiting from this film since it was announced during the pandemic back in 2021 but it suddenly got delayed multiple times and at some point many stuff was leaked before release teasing that something was going wrong during production, after the film finally released I realize I was right. The film feels like a less special Garfield version of The Peanuts Movie which instead commits the same mistakes as Toy Story 4 by getting less focus of the iconic characters like Jon Arbuckle and Nermal over new ones like Garfield's father Vic in a mostly boring robbery storyline that you can feel was chopped during production as many scenes feel disconnected and with weird pacing and tonal issues.

Don't let the bot driven score trick you

When you see a famous latino singer doing an animated film movie about one of his songs based on wasps, you would expect something creative as most animated musical videos. But we instead got a lame poorly made animated superhero movie that's mainly a ripoff of Bee Movie and Flushed Away and The Incredibles with horrible latino stereotypes and overdone tropes and weird pop culture references like it referencing Batman And Robin (1997). The soundtrack is good but like twin movie Sunshine Barry and The Disco Worms it can't really save the poor quality of the film. The animation is good but some of the characters movements are stiff and the designs are ugly.

worse than the 2017 film
13 April 2024
While the 2017 film was mainly a ripoff of the 2011 Yogi Bear movie. That film had charismatic characters and a funny plot while this film just feels like a cashgrab that completely forgets that fact that Woody already had a human family in the previous film and throws him into a camp with obnoxious kids characters and characters like Wally Walrus and Buzz Buzzard which them being literal cartoon anthromorphic animals working in a camp instead of making them something like the animals from Guardians Of The Galaxy contradicts the logic of the first film where Woody was supposed to act like an actual animal outside of his cartoony appearance and being able to talk.

A extremely boring film
5 January 2024
An Mexican animated film that went through multiple delays across two decades and director lying about his development until it finally premiered at a time when there is many competition in theaters and Mexican films being released in streaming services. It has the feels of an edgy late 2000s animated film and the plot it's just a ripoff of the director's previous film Brijes and the film Nikté with anime inspired battles and stuff that feels like something you would see in Pokemon or Digimon. The animation is not that different from films done at the same time as this (which is weird for a film that was in,development during a long period of time) and it looks dated and unnatural.

Good but with rushed development
2 January 2024
The film through entertainting is confusing as most characters from the first film are reduced to NPCs trying to do overused cinematic tropes like Mera and Atlanna being just there as Aquaman's romantic interest and mother and Thomas Curry and Black Manta being ripoffs of Uncle Ben and Green Goblin from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films with a few AI-generated lines and Topo being the cute animal character to sell merch. And despite Arthur narrating the events of the first film in the first seconds there is not much time for people who didn't watch it to know them and most of the sad moments feel fake and you can't really relate to the characters. It ripoffs Thor: The Dark World storyline and some entire sequences along with Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings.

Could have been almost good
31 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The first seconds are good and feels creative with the 2D sequence and adult jokes. But then it starts becoming just another Illumination film with annoying characters while taking stuff from other films like Rio (which Chris Meledandri right hand Carlos Saldanha directed) the migrating plot promoted in advertising is almost non-existent as they are already in New York in just 2 seconds after they leave their home. The Jamaican accent stereotyped red parrot character is extremely annoying and only serves as device for the No-Rio third act sequence and the villain just randomly decides to kidnap birds in a helicopter after some ducks messed up with his kitchen.

A souless cash grab sequel
14 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
While The Origin seemed to be another bad movie in the franchise. This movie just makes it look better in comparison. The film has some interesting ideas that are overshadowed by cringy jokes and dumb decisions like El Charro Negro returning after one movie in the post-credit scene and Chaman (an interesting new character that gets wasted in stupid jokes) being randomly evil and they ruin the ending of Black Charro for dumb fanservice that feels like the movie didn't care about the franchise continuity and they just wanted to make some money. The animation is the worst in the franchise and the characters designs look worse than the Netflix TV series and The Origin at least have actual good artstyle in comparison to this disaster.

A disappointing mess
16 June 2023
I didn't expect anything from this and i wasn't wrong. Most of the supposed rom-com concepts of the film are not even explored and its mainly used on unfunny jokes and gags that makes the movie feel more like a Illumination film that got mis-branded as a Pixar film. Ember and Wade and most of the characters aren't interesting and they are used for rushed world-building and unfunny character torture jokes, and the ending is the most predictable and generic i ever seen in a animated film. The character design is so ugly and the entire aesthetic of the film is visually gross and it feels like they just focused on making this a self-insert artistic film for the director and they didn't care about what audience would think about it.

A really bad movie
5 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The film feels like a weirder version of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Up and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs with most of the story elements being based around the old 2000s Mexican TV Show Olocoons (Specially the final season) it has some weird messages and scenes like Kid and Old Guy start hating technology and weird quotes and dog pooping and the animation is bad in some scenes and there is a scene where the characters talk without their lips moving. The movie has some pacing issues and i wanted to sleep since the movie started and most of the character development of the main character happens off screen. And there is too much dialog in most of the emotional scenes.

A unwatchable mess
27 February 2023
I don't know why most of the reviews are overhyping this film. The characters aren't really interesting and dull and the plot is really unoriginal and its just a ripoff of Flushed Away and Bee Movie and every second it just starts to become even more worse with stuff like horrible political messages and stereotypes.

Animation is really bad and the characters have weird movements that fell into the uncanny valley and the backgrounds look like plastic (even in 2008 there were films with better animation than this) the character design looks like it had potential but got messed up in a horrible film.

A dissapointing show that had great potential
8 February 2023
With the shorts it seemed that this was going to be a great dark TV show and that it would break the tradition of mexican animated shows being all about their culture, but it didn't. The show feels rushed with the plots centering on the characters traveling to some place to fight a hero (Which mostly are based on characters from other franchises) the characters aren't charismatic and are frustrating and cliché and everything feels like a Mexican Telenovela that somehow got turned into an animated show. Most of the lore of the show is not explored and the show itself just depends on references and cameos of other Cartoon Network shows. Black Hat is not even the main character like the shorts made it seem he was and he's just a comic relief character that has not relevance to the plot.
