Mammals (2022)
Less Arty More Farty
I can't believe I wasted 3 hours on this show, I kept expecting something interesting to happen and all I got was... confused. I must be really stupid because I did not 'get' this tv show at all. It did not seem clever or intriguing. To me, it was style over substance. Wtf was up with the whole muppet thing? Why was there a whale? That whole coco chanel thing and the show generally, seemed an Amelie rip off (soundtrack?). Why was Tom Jones there?? Is it because he is from Wales (whales)? If so that is STUPID and makes no sense. Like the rest of the show. And the big reveal at the end? Disappointing. I want to unwatch it.
But I don't have a bad word to say about Colin Morgan, he is amazing, give him an Oscar. And the whale too.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Watch the outtakes!
This movie is really not that bad. I took it as a bit of light entertainment and you know what - I was entertained!
Okay some of the jokes weren't that funny but there are sooo many worse movies out there that get higher scores than this. These women are so talented and funny and if you watch the outtakes on the dvd you'll see what I mean. Some of those scenes that didn't make it into the movie were HILARIOUS. Such a shame that they didn't put those scenes in!
Also the movie is worth watching for Kate Mckinnon alone. She is so funny, has amazing comedic timing and energy, some of her lines (and outfits!) I thought were totally iconic! And I ended up falling a little bit in love with her by the end.
I understand people's criticisms and I agree that the female ghostbusters could have better, but the fact that there IS a female ghostbusters is amazing in itself and should be celebrated. I for one am proud that the industry and Paul Feig decided to get behind this project and I don't regret buying the DVD at all. I wholeheartedly recommend this movie if you want a giggle and to be entertained.
Heartlands (2002)
Heartlands is full of heart!
This film is like a warm hug in movie format. It has beautiful scenery, an amazing soundtrack, and most importantly, Michael Sheen! I loved it, and the story really resonated with me. I thought it was touching, and a real feel good story. I would watch it again, and actually I might do that right now. If you're wondering whether or not to watch this, just do it!
