Absolute Stunning Rollercoaster
*Review of Movie Srikant (2024)*
Currently running in Theatres.
While watching this movie, you face an experience that alternately makes you feel excited, elated or happy and also makes you feel sad, disappointed or frustrated. Watching this film has been an emotional roller coaster for me.
It is a Film of Raj Kumar Rao and Tushar Hiranandani. In every frame Raj Kumar Rao is unimaginable, composition of each shot each frame has command with technical brilliance of Tushar. Either it is editing or cinematography, casting, background scoring rendition of "Papa kehtey hain bara naam Karega", simply amazing. Hats off Jyothika, Sharad & Sirini in father role.
A mind-blowing journey to life of visually impaired living legend Srikant Bulla is so inspirational and stunning, that many thing in life we must learn. Dream big, never give up.
Film narrates how a visually impaired person breaks all barriers and hurdles to obtain a degree from MIT, United States and comes back to India and established a private company manufacturing recycled paper worth more than 100 crores turnover.
In India Colleges, Institutions, Corporate houses neither they have bothered nor they have concerned about talent intelligence brilliance visions of visually impaired persons. All we have a perception that visually impaired persons are for singing and begging in Train bus.
Film narrated Raasta paar karaaney ke naam par hum daya dikhatey hain, pyar may andha word as a phrase use kartey hain.
In one scene we see, the our icon President of India Dr Abdul Kalam Azad is in conversation with students, where Srikanth proudly says in front of him that he wants to be the first visually impaired President of India. In another scene we see, in an award function notable Srikant returns his award of 'Business Excellence' because he gets nominated in special category. On the stage he firmly says that on the basis of any special category award he will not accept. He would only accept the award if he is nominated with the nominees in the general category. Due to this confidence, and acumen he developed his business empire called Bollant Industries. This biopic is an inspiration for many who become the victim of being physically challenged and lose hope in life.
A must watch for all of you, show this film to your children. They may learn some lessons on inclusiveness, and we & we Lions(Lions Clubs Members) might too.
*Film will left you lasting impression*
*THIS FILM IS BEYOND STAR. SO NO STAR*
Maidaan (2024)
An Inspiring Biographical Drama
Review
"Maidan" A Film with Technical Brilliance.
After Chak de India, a motivational classic cult movie..
now Maidaan
3 hours long movie in today's entertainment industry, generally makers don't make more than 2.5 hours. But this 181-minute 100 crores budget film Maidan, keeps you engaged till end, you don't even know when the movie starts and when it ends. So tight script by Saiwyn Quadras writer of Mary kom Neerja , mind-blowing camera work by DOP team Tushar Kanti Ray & Fyodor Lyass (sports), superb editing by Dev Rao Jadav & Sahnawaj Mosani , excellent story narrating, background scoring by A R Rahman, performances by each and every artist kudos to casting director , Stellar & versatile performance by Ajay Devgan Priya Ramani, Gajraj Rao, sports action by Rob Miller and Reel Sports, lastly the Team leader Director Amit Ravindernath Sharma. Amit Sharma proved that the best teamwork is a must for success. This film is not a director's movie. It is a movie of Team Amit. It's not a one man show.
Maidaan is an inspiring biographical drama that brings to life the inspiring journey of former Indian national football team coach Sir Syed Abdul Rahim,
and the personal ego and jealousy of a handful of people inside the sports system.
Every Indian sports and cinema lovers must see football on a big screen.
Sam Bahadur (2023)
A Tribute to Our War Hero Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw
Watched Sam Bahadur & Dunki on New Year festive mood.
Review of
Sam Bahadur
First Talvar, then Raaji and now Sam Bahadur by Meghna Gulzar. She is as talented as her father.
Just see Talvar's case is still mystery. But Meghna presented honestly with logical facts findings straightforward.
2nd Film Raaji A well made Film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat, a true story of RAW agent who, upon her father's request, is married into a family of Pakistani military officers in Pakistan to gather and provide information to India, prior to the India Pakistan War of 1971.
And now Sam Bahadur a biopic of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw who was Hero of all wars fought by independent India till 1971. Sam Bahadur Film is well researched well justified with characters except Indira Gandhi. A poor weak casting of Fatima Sana Shaikh for role of Indira Gandhi. Presentation of Indira Gandhi character is totally unjustified miscast & weak.
Rest each artist & each department has done good job.
This Film shows life and four decades journey of Army service of Sam Manekshaw, lesser known things & event about this War Hero, today's generation and we all must know about him and his actions in detail. All these are visible with Cinematic excellence by Meghna and her Team.
If we will not talk about Vicky Kaushal, it will be injustice toward Film and toward him. It is Vicky Kaushal who carried the film on his shoulder. It seems that soul of Manekshaw entered into him. He looks fierce. In such a way Vicky adopted the mannerism, body language, walking style, speaking style of Sam Manekshaw, its simply amazing and unbelievable. Just one show back I saw his performance as a Sukhhi in Donki and then as A Sam. It is simply charismatic.
One thing definitely I must say Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw was very much concern about welfare and dignity of his soldiers and never bow down before PM or ministers. He always spoken his mind boldly with full conviction gracefully. No yes sir yes sir Haan ji Haan ji. That's why he is Hero of all of us. PM Indira Gandhi fully trusted him and honored him with First Field Marshall post despite opposed by many top level peoples.
This film is a tribute to our National Hero and a must watch Film.
My rating is 5 Star out of 5.
Dunki (2023)
An issue based family entertainer Film
Watched 2 Film on New Year Dunki and Sam Bahadur.
Review of Film
Dunki
A journey back home with lots of love, humour, friendship, patriotism and strong emotions. Renowned director Rajkumar Hirani has done a wonderful job with these emotions, especially in the second half which is portrayed very well and the climax brings tears to your eyes.
The strongest point of this film is its portrayal of the immigration problem, which shows reality about their struggles, their feelings. How they get cheated by fraud agencies take advantage of their feelings, dreams and ignorance. In the dream of a better life, so many people lost their lives. And once they reach the land of their dreams, what a harsh reality they have to face, and perhaps this is also the weakest point.
How many of those who are going to theaters in search of entertainment with popcorn are aware of these problems? Even if we know, how many people can feel it?
Sometimes it is the responsibility of a good director/writer to spread the message, to make the public realize the issue, which is just a news to them.
There are some technical flaws, it could have been done better, it may not be Hirani's best, but overall it is a really good film with good intentions. You will laugh and cry.
Everyone has acted well, but among all these good actors, Vicky's small role and his acting have created an impact.
Taapsee Pannu has portrayed her acting abilities with efficiency. Vikram Kochhar, Boman Irani, Anil Grover have acted with liveliness.
SRK fans will enjoy seeing his phenomenal portrayal of someone who can die for his love, but can't lie, can't defame his country. Pritam's music was good but not extraordinary.
The hall was filled with families, parents bringing their children after a long time without any hesitation.
After so much violence, action drama, intimate scenes, toxic masculinity, in recent releases Bollywood finally brings a pure family drama to enjoy this festive season. So, all the best to the Team Hiani. My rating is 4 Star out of 5 Star.
Three of Us (2022)
A feeling called love
Review:
Three of Us
streaming on Netflix.
A story of love, loss, trauma and healing. A feeling called love. If your heart beats for a special person year after year and has never felt for anyone else, that is the love that has never asked for ownership. This film was made with a very heart-touching and gentle observation of human relationships. It takes perspective on experiences of loss, trauma, and healing. The lighting and angles in this film are very natural. Every frame speaks to the character's emotions. The common belief is that a woman should be happiest with her husband. The center of her happiness should be her husband. But the reality is something else. That's why when Dipankar asks Shailja that he has never seen her the happiest, and is that so? Instead Shailja asked him, "When was the last time we were sad together?" A tasteful treat from director Avinash Arun. Mesmerizing performances by Shefali Shah, Jaideep Ahlawat and Swanand Kirkire. The expression on Shefali's silent face is so powerful that you can understand what she wants to say. Jaideep Ahlawat, one of the finest actors of Bollywood, his every gesture, his expression, his every line with brilliant editing is extraordinary to read. You may feel that every relationship cannot be described in words. At one point, when Shailja (Shefali) says something, we expect to immediately cut to her reaction shot, but the camera remains on Pradeep and the cutaway happens after a few moments. This is a reflection of the great power of art and artists. The poetry recited by Jaideep is so impressive that the entire film becomes poetic. This is a film worth watching.
Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (2023)
A content of message
*Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video*
Just completed watching this Film on Netflix.
The story revolves around *Sajini Shinde (Radhika Madan), a physics teacher* whose party video goes viral, causing embarrassment to her colleagues, friends and relatives.
As a teacher, Sajini was expected not to have a life beyond the classroom. And if she did, her actions would be investigate by moral policing, and she will become a victim of slut-shaming.
A life of a brilliant teacher was lost just because of a viral video where she was seen dancing and celebrating her birthday.
*Today's youth has accepted social media as their life.* Often we keep facing news like someone's video going viral or MMS getting leaked. The story of 'Sajni Shinde Ka Viral Video' also talks about a girl whose MMS has been leaked.
All Sajini needed was a support system, but unfortunately, she had no one. Coming from a reputed family, her world crashed when the video went viral. Everyone around her blamed her and questioned her integrity, and she was left to believe that she did not deserve to continue living her life.
This film reminded a similar incident of August 2022, a professor from the prestigious St. Xavier's College was forced to resign over bikini pictures that were taken from her private social media account and circulated within the student community. Instead of opening a dialogue with the students, the college decided her to moral policing.
This incident could have been an important lesson in the students' lives, but instead, what they learned was how easy it is to blame and shame women.
Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video questions the hypocrisy of individuals who expect women to be a perfect blend of traditional and modern.
*An attempt has been made to convey a message through the film that suicide cannot be the solution to any problem, life is very beautiful.*
The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984 (2023)
Exceptional series
Review
The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984
Streaming on Netflix
The spectacular show, crafted into a 4-hour series, will take you on a thrilling, scary and disturbingly tragic journey into the dark record called the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, that dreadful night and its aftermath.
The film covers the entire incident from every angle.
This series is primarily about the unknown forgotten heroes of the Indian Railways, whose honest
efforts, prompt action with less available means and sacrifices to vacate the Bhopal Junction Railway Station, calling relief services from all areas And helping people by getting out of Bhopal helped in saving the lives of many people.
This series reflected the helplessness of our system in front of an US originated company. The series beautifully reveals our weak bilateral position in front of super power like USA as it is even today.
Its clearly shows the careless negligence and unaccountable attitude of American Capitalist who had only a single point agenda to make a profit at the risk of human lives in India.
What a good performance by every character has given, especially KK Menon is mesmerizing, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Dibyendu, R Madhavan, Babil Khan, Sunny Hinduja, Anupama Soni, Raghubir Yadaw all these artist have played their characters so well that it seems that they were the real protectors of Bhopal at that time.
Every department of this series has done exclusive job except VFX. Script and presentation is so powerful that you don't mind the poor VFX.
The actual clippings at the end is so impactful that you feel the real painful sufferings of peoples and still going through because of this disaster.
A completely recommended terrific watch.
Rating 5 out of 5.
Neeyat (2023)
Watchable
Review:
Neeyat, directed by Anu Menon, is a Hindi film streaming on Amazon Prime Vedeo, an inspiration from Agatha Christie mysteries and Rian Johnson's Knives Out movie.
Elements of this movie is Mystery suspense & drama.
Anu Menon tried to make this film for mass appeal, with Vidya Balan in the lead role, supported by talented
actors Ram Kapoor, Neeraj Kabi, Rahul Bose, Shefali Shah in a cameo role , Shasank Arora, Nikki Walia & Prajakta Koli a popular YouTuber. Despite all capable actors,
reinvention of the mystery in a gathering genre, is not so impactful. It should have been delivered with more brilliance.
Niyat is not a well-crafted movie. Vidya Balan fails to make her impact, rather Rahul Bose steals the shows. Resembling Ram Kapoor as a Vijay Mallya is good.
Location is something awesome with beautiful Camera work.
On the whole, despite too many loopholes this Film engaged you throughout. Theme song is well composed with good lyrics.
My rating is 2.5 out of 5.
The Good Wife (2009)
One of the best series
The Trial
Pyar Kanoon Dokha
Streaming on Hotstar.
Review:
A realistic portrayal of the Indian judicial system, directed by Supern.
It is aadaptation of Robert King and Michelle King's The Good Wife aired on CBS now available on Amazon Prime Vedeo.
The Trial is an engrossing and engaging legal drama which keeps you enjoying with its twist & turns so much that you are unable to stop watching it.
The tight script and outstanding performance by each artist, have justified their roles, be it Kajol, be it Ally Khan or Kubra Sait or
Gaurav Pandey or Kiran Kumar, everyone. But show stealer was Sheeba Chaddha.
This show raises some important issues about gender, justice and power in society.
A pleasant watch. You will enjoy the show.
Now the original American one I watched "The Good Wife" side by side. Definitely I would like to write some line about The Good Wife.
One of the best written shows I have ever seen. Each character, even the characters from the background to the one liners, have been written with a lot of care and thought. Characters like Diane Lockhart, Eli Gould, Elsbeth Taccioni, and Peter Florrick are the best written. Archie Panjabi as Kalinda Sharma simply amazing. I applaud whoever was entrusted with the task of casting the performers for this show, because each and every selection is perfect. My rating 10/10 as this is the one of the best show I have seen.
This American series The Good Wife also adapted in South Korea, Japan in same name.
My rating for "The Trial Pyar Kanoon Dhokha" is 3 star out of 5.
Kohrra (2023)
Need to watch Kohrra
Kohrra
It is currently streaming on Netflix.
Review:
A thrilling digital masterpiece by Sudeep Sharma's Murder Mystery is a true portrayal of Punjab and understanding of the feelings and emotions of the people. KOHRRA has shown once again that you don't need a massive star cast to make it a success. It's a unique mix of emotion, vulnerability and mystery. Interesting plot of the director, actors and film. Produced & created by Gunjit Chopra & Sudeep Sharma and directed by Randeep Jha, the show is about two Punjabi cops who investigate the death of a young NRI in a town Jagrana in Punjab. In the process of solving the murder, the police are fighting their own battles.
In intelligent manner makers dealt the internal politics & conflicts in Family, Police department, drug abuse, Parent Child relationship, women's right to passion, disturbed childhood.
Development of characters done brilliantly.
Suvinder Vicky's impeccable timing and expressiveness is one of the most fascinating components of the show turns out to be his relationships with his family, friends, and other people.
At the Singapore International Film Festival in 2020, Suvinder Vicky won the Silver Screen Award for Best Performance in an Asian Feature Film for Milestone.
Side by side Barun Sobti as a finest desi buddy cop is outstanding. Rachel Shelley as Liam's mother Clara is also dealing grief anger plays with utmost grace (watching her really is delightful to have her back on screen after Lagaan). Every cast has performed their best with full naturalism.
Compliments to Benedict Taylor and Naren Chandavarkar for background scoring. Cinematographer Saurabh Monga deserves a thumping appreciation.
Movie lovers need their time and attention, it's a must watch. Because its deal with our biases, unglamorous depiction of real-world issues, love, relationships and our internal conflicts.
Rating 5 star out of 5.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (2023)
Mind Blowing
Review
Chor Nikal ke Bhaga
Streaming on Netflix
Entertaining and thrilling this Ajay Singh's movie keeps you engaged till the end with full of suspense.
I remember watching full of suspense classic cult movie Ittefaq released in 2017 by Abhay Chopra a double murder case and Ittefaq 1969 by Yash Chopra a mystery thriller.
This Ittefaq 2023 movie by Ajay Singh is full of action packed suspense thriller.
Mid Air Robbery, Plane Hijack, Revenge, combination of present and flashback, every frame and shots composition is superb. Set of midair flight movements is awesome.
Each department and actors have performed their best. Background scoring to Camera work, script, dialogues , editing everything keeps audience engaged from start to finish. So tight and crispy that you will forget to sip tea while watching this movie in your drawing room.
Yami Gautam, Sunny Kaushal, Sharad Kelkar, Indranil Sengupta and Barun Chanda all delivers in their significant role.
Kudos to Cinematographer Gianni Giannelli, Editor Charu Thakker, Background scorer Ketan Sodha and writers Siraj Ahmed Raj, Kumar Gupta Amar Kaushik, well delivered by all of you.
Highly recommend to Thriller Movie Lovers to watch this mind blowing film on your free time to enjoy.

Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway (2023)
Emotional Roller coaster
Review:
Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway
Streaming on Netflix
A powerful story based on true events of Sagarika Bhattacharya, who fought physically mentally legally, relentlessly three years against the Norwegian government in 2011 when her children were forcefully taken to foster care without her consent, superbly directed by Ashima Chibber.
Originally Sushma Swaraj as an external affairs minister went out of her way to any Indian need of help in foreign land, made the case strong of Sagarika Bhattacharya. In Film role of Mrs Swaraj played by veteran actress Neena Gupta.
Captivating performance by Rani Mukherjee in lead role and Jim Sarbh as a Norway Lawyer, well performed by Anirban as a dominating husband with domestic violence.
Balaji Gauri as advocate portrayal deserves accolades and recognition.
Film shows Norwegian Child Welfare Services (CWS) how it works with corrupt officials and representatives of Norway and India. Their agenda more children means more donation, more government subsidies, more foster family, thus a great business for CWS.
While watching this thought provoking movie you will be engaged throughout the emotional roller coaster. 4 star out of 5 . MUST WATCH.
Scoop (2023)
Well researched Storyline
Scoop
Streaming on Netflix released on 02nd June 2023
Storyline is based on Jigna Vora's book Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison. In June 2011, crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey was murdered. Jigna Vora was sent to jail in this case. Jigna was then the deputy bureau chief of the newspaper named Asian Age. Jigna was accused of having a personal enmity with Jyotirmoy Dey. Because of this, she provided some information to the Chhota Rajan gang. On the basis of that Jyotirmoy was identified and killed. Obviously the names of the characters and newspapers have been changed in this series.
Series shows how there is a difference between that real incident and the story that reaches the general public.
Scoop talks about the deep trench between honesty and newspaper-selling journalism. Business interference in media work. In a male-dominated society, a woman's success is linked to her body instead of her mind. The battle between honesty and reward. Draconian use of MOCOCA & TADA. Nexus between Underworld, Media and Police. This series talks on all these above issues comfortably. Series presents you facts, not results.
The quote of Jonathan Freasure has been quoted by a character Imran Chief Editor of a Newspaper in a scene
If one person says that it is raining outside and the other says that it is sunny outside. In such a situation, the job of the media is not to tell the side of both, but to tell the truth by looking outside the window itself.
Hansal Mehta Director of Scam 1992, Faraz directed Scoop with full research. His narratives are very clear. Every department of Series is par excellence.
Our own Bumba da Prosenjit again impressive after Jubilee.
Stellar performance by Zeesan Ayub, Tanmay Dhanania and all other artist.
Brilliant performance by Karisma Tanna in lead role. She is the Hero of the series.
A must watch Series.
My rating is 5 out of 5.
Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery (2023)
Kathal a satirical comedy
Review of Movie
Kathal
This low budget movie with a brilliant storyline is an effortless exposure through a satirical comedy.
The film depicts social issues but in a very noticeable manner, like gender inequality, cast equation, police atrocities towards the poor, bribery, inter-caste marriages, judging a girl's character just because she is wearing torn jeans, giving priority for stolen jackfruits of a Minister, instead to find a kidnapped girl. The film has done a commendable job of highlighting all these issues without making it preaching.
Yashowardhan Mishra you done a excellent job in highlighting all these social issues.
Some haunting dialogues:
"Fati jeans pehanewali ko koi v utha lega".
"Is desh main neech zaat ki larki se zyada kathal dhoondna zaroori hai."
"Larki phatti patloon pehan k ghoomay gi to koi manchala otha k le jaye ga... maanay hmari patloon phat jaye to koi bhe otha le hum ko?"
Every single actor leave an expression mark and impact about the real life problems of character they played.
A good watch.
Ladri di biciclette (1948)
Learning Film
Both the film are most influential flims in cinema history, a part of classic cinema.
Simple direct depiction of lower-class life, using real people instead of seasoned actors.
Bycycle Thieves debut of all three main characters with Lamberto Maggiorani as Antonio's father, Enzo Staiola as Bruno son, Lianella Carrel as Antonio's wife.
Unprofessional actors in Pather Panchali Kanu Bannerjee as Harihar the father, Subir Bannerjee as Apu the son, Karuna Bannerjee as Sarbojaya the mother and Chunibala Devi as Indir Thakurun the elderly cousin of Harihar.
Both the films focus on stories inspired by reality and each scene depicts pieces from the lives of ordinary people. Bicycle Thieves reflected post-war Italian neorealism and Pather Panchali parallel Indian cinema. Bycycle Thieves tells the story of a father, Antonio, in post-World War II Italy, who desperately searches for his stolen bicycle, the key to securing an essential job that feeds his impoverished family. He accompanied by his son Bruno during searches.
In Bicycle Thief, viewers are able to see all the elements of neorealism. The use of non-professional actors, for the characters acting with low class, the flatness of the scenes, and the location where it was shot, Director Sica created certain emotions in very specific scenes in the film. In one scene father & son were eating in a restaurant, shots were continuously shown of a wealthy family and the boys trying to show it off to each other, a powerful portrayal of the inequality prevailing in society.
In another one scene, the merchant used a ladder to place the mortgaged bed sheets on top of the rack and the actress was trying to see where her sheets were being kept but it was too far away and too high that it was almost lost in the crowd. Hopelessness is something that is shown in the film, every time they try to do something to recover, a new problem arises,
and final scene shows Antonio and his son holding hands in tears as they join a group of anonymous streetwalkers, defeated by poverty. Antonio's shoulder is hit hard by a vehicle passing through the crowd, but he does not react, numb with powerlessness. The camera watches as the two walk away solemnly and uncertainly with the crowd. A variety of shots, angles and set-ups were used which helped the audience to know what Italy was like after World War II.
Tremendous cinematography by Carlo Montuori.
This visual storytelling by Sica is an outstanding classic of Italian neorealism.
One of the greatest strengths of Cinema media is the use of visual language to understand the audience of any country or place or language.
No matter how many times you watch Bycycle Thieves and Pather Panchali, you'll find a new statement each time.
Farzi (2023)
Farzi
Review of 'Farzi'
Streaming on Amazon Prime Vedeo
8 Episode from the maker of 'The Family Man' Raj Nidimoru &
Krishna DK.
Storytelling is about counterfeiting as a big problem in Indian Economy. It was done brilliantly with full detailing, research & making techniques.
Screenplay and direction deserve a lot of praise.
Now it became fashion to show cracked marriage life of security or spy agencies officers. Showing just due to duty, marriage life broke and gone upto level of divorce. Equations of marriage life of Vijay Setupathi with his wife in Farzi, Manoj Bajpai with his wife in Family Man, Regina Cassandra with her husband in Jaanbaz Hindustan ke..same scene by scene just copy paste.
This subplot was unnecessarily inserted.
No unnecessary sex scene, but in the name of reality every 2nd dialogues is full of foul languages...you can show reality also without unnecessary foul languages. In an interview Sharmila Tagore said Manoj Bajpai..ab gaali mat dena. Manoj and K K Menon are versatile actor of world class, they don't need unnecessarily foul languages in name of reality.
Like Family Man not much use of long shots. But cinematography is splendid.
Background scoring and songs are average.
Competitive performance by every actor. Seeing Amol Palekar in Gulmohar and now in Farzi..a great feeling. Rashi Khanna well done.
Exceptional chemistry with humor between Bhuvan Arora as Feroz & Shahid Kapoor as Sunny, Vijay Setupathi as a Michael & Zakir Hussain as a Minister is fire cracking.
Character buildup of Vijay Setupathi is influenced by Manoj Bajpai, same as The Family Man. But Vijay Setupathi delivered as his own in a marvellous way.
K K Menon is a mind blowing, he is himself an acting institution..he dont look like K K Menon..he is Mansoor a ruthless gangster.
For using the foul languages, repeating sequence of equation of marriage life, my rating will be 2 star out of 5.
If you are alone in house and for time passing you can see this series and enjoy. No masterpiece no classic no outstanding.
Chellam Sir and Srikant Tiwari..reference shows that we will see very soon the next sequel. Expecting Manoj Bajpai Vijay Setupathi and K K Menon in one frame.
1971 (2007)
1971 deserves more award more audience
1971
A movie which need to be seen by all...A must must watch, finely crafted Film 1971 available on YouTube released in 2007 and miserably flopped.
1971 Movie is based on true spine chilling story of 54 Prisoners of War of 1971 India Pakistan war who detained illegally even cunningly manipulated & denied their existence by Pakistani Government.
The Film is depicting the struggle of those 54 Indian Prisoners in Pakistan.
Amazing acting by Manoj Bajpai, Kumud Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Bikramjit Kanwarpal, Deepak Dobriyal, Manav Kaul, Piyush Mishra.. all cast have justified their role.. watching them is simply thrilling.
Whole movie will feel you with gratitude towards our soldiers who gave their today for our tomorrow. Dying on war field and struggling for life as a POW in a enemy country is different. This is just equal to daily dying years after years.
Script & Dialogue by Piyush Mishra, Direction by Amrit Sagar, Action Director, Cinematography by
Chirantan Das, Music by Akash Sagar literally everything was outstanding with brilliant execution.
Just 2 National Award, its deserved more.
Forgotten by everyone that the 54 POW's have spent over three decades in Pakistani jails against the rule.
This films leaves its footprints on your mind forever.
1971 deserves more audience than it has.
Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke (2023)
Beautiful Meghalaya
Review
Jaanbaz Hindustan ke
webseries of 8 Episodes on Z5 by Srijit Mukherjee.
After well picturized the beauty of Northeast in Anek by Anubhav Sinha, now mesmerizing locations of Meghalaya beautifully captured by Shanu Singh Rajput in Srijit's Jaanbaz Hindustan ke. Generally Bollywood makers neglected beautiful locations of Northeast.
Story line, dialogues are nothing extraordinary or exceptional, but script is well written. Directorial part is excellent as expected from Srijit. Cinematography by Shanu is beautifully crafted, specially chase sequences in Kerala brilliantly using the drone shots. Music side is weak.
As usual flawless performance by Chandan Roy as we have seen in Panchayat both Seasons. Leading role of Regina Cassandra, Meeta Vasist, Gayathri justified their character authentically. But the show stealer is Sumit Vyas, brilliant execution by him in interrogation scene in last episode.
I will give this series 3 star for beautifully shoots at Meghalaya and for casting. Though I am fan of Srijit Mukherjee, but no 5 star.
Taj: Divided by Blood (2023)
Repeatedly watchable
Review on "TAJ divided by Blood"
webseies streaming on Z5
Simply Impressive entertaining series focussed on historical accuracy with full grandeur. Production design, palaces, costumes, battle sequences, battle armour is splendid. Every department of the series, every single person from director to actor has done an excellent job.
Initially just watching trailer I thought the webseries would be a normal series either on glamour of mughal era or anti mughal era. But after watching the first episode I continued watching till the last 10 episode.
Story line is based on historical facts which unravels multiple layers of each character in the Mughal dynasty. It is not like Mugal-e Azam or Anarkali.
Complexity, equations, intense emotions between Akbar's three sons is the spotlight of series, and not the battles they fought to stake their claim to the crown. And this is the beauty of series which make it most spectacular historical drama.
Well developed characters, brilliant Cinematography use of long wide shots, outstanding script, the VFX , editing, background scoring everything is superb.
What a great casting Dharmendra, Naseruddin Shah, Rahul Bose Aditi Rao, Zarina Wahab, Asim Gulati. Taha Saha is exceptional.
But dialogues delivery tone of Subham in role of Danial Mirza is a minus point. Another minus point is dialogues written for Man Bai.
Well done Directorial Team Ron Scalpello, Ajay Singh Vibhu Puri, Prasant Singh.
My rating will be 10 out of 10.
Janhit Mein Jaari (2022)
A must watch film
Janhit may jaari (Theatre release in 2022)
Chhatriwali (OTT released in 2023)
Both streaming on Z5
Both films are on same social taboo topic with much self confidence.
Now both films dealt with serious issues such as teenage pregnancy, maternal mortality, unsafe abortions, empowering women with reproductive rights.
Both the movies are brilliantly scripted on relating to society control on women sexuality, lack of extensive sex education, poor access to contraceptives services by women, which are the main reasons for the unprecedented rise in teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Importantly both the movies used humour and punch lines in local language of Karnal Haryana and Chanderi MP to educate small town peoples with fun packed 2 hours entertainment which keeps you laughing till the end.
Hats off to Directors Tejas Vijay Deoskar of Chatriwali and Jai Basantu Singh of Janhit may Jaari for making in a low budget of 12-15 crores, a entertaining and meaningful sensible informative Film with beautiful dialogues with zero vulgarity, well edited, excellently performed by lesser known actors.
If we can watch a senseless action senceless romance packed movies in name of entertainment, why not such type of topics which needed talking openly, sholuld be made repeatedly.
Such Films should be shown to young teens as well as to women.
Now question is why 'Jan Hit May Jaari' failed on box office
answer is simple, our culture and traditions doesn't allow us to talk about condoms and sanitary pads openly by a woman, and that's why this film failed at box office.

Both the movies are brilliantly scripted on relating to society control on women sexuality, lack of extensive sex education, poor access to contraceptives services by women, which are the main reasons for the unprecedented rise in teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Importantly both the movies used humour and punch lines in local language of Karnal Haryana and Chanderi MP to educate small town peoples with fun packed two hours entertainment which keeps you laughing till the end.
Hats off to Directors Tejas Vijay Deoskar of Chatriwali and Jai Basantu Singh of Janhit may Jaari for making in a low budget of 12 to15 crores, a entertaining and meaningful sensible informative Film with beautiful dialogues with zero vulgarity, well edited, excellently performed by lesser known actors.
If we can watch a senseless action senceless romance packed movies in name of entertainment, why not such type of topics which needed talking openly, sholuld be made repeatedly.
Such Films should be shown to young teens as well as to women.
Now question is why Jan Hit May Jaari failed on box office
answer is simple , our culture and traditions doesn't allow us to talk about condoms and sanitary pads openly by a woman and that's why this film failed at box office.
Lost (2022)
Picturization of Kolkata is real hero
Lost
(streaming on Z5) 13 crore budget film.
After 'Kahani' mesmeric picturization of our own city of joy vibrant Kolkata specially North Kolkata by Aniruddha Roychowdhury director of Pink.. Anuranan..Antaheen.
The story narrating the lost of values, integrity, dedication, negative shades of politics.. in background of a young woman crime reporter who is working on a story of sudden disappearance of a young student theater activist.
Brilliant casting. Yami Gautam steals the show , Tushar Pandey as usual performed his best. Rahul Khanna as a antagonist with always smiling innocent face but very shrewd and Pankaj Kapoor as intellect professor proved that they can justice brilliantly their character authentically.
Lost is not a entertaining movie, may be sometime you feel that you have wasted 2 hour. But its compelling to you to think, to find the answer of questions arise in your mind.
There are so many loose ends..flaws in script, but message.. narrative.. statement..is not loose, its very strong. Thought process is very clear.
Worth watching. My rating will be 3 out of 5.
This Film received a standing ovation at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, where it premiered. It was also selected as the closing film of Atlanta Indian Film Festival.
Qala (2022)
Quala A World Class Cinema
*Koyi Kaise Unhein Yeh Samjhaye*
*Sajaniya Ke Mann Mein Abhi Inkaar Hai*
*Jaane Balma Ghode Pe Kyun Sawar Hain*
Classic from Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sireesha Bhagavatula and Amit Trivedi in *Quala*.
In this marriage season everywhere in Sangeet Ceremonies this song was highly popular & viral.
*Quala on Netflix*
I watched twice and now I am writing.
Show stealer is stunning Swastika Mukherjee.
Now a days our talented Film makers focused on real content with talented cast & crew to make world class cinema. Every year I am attending Film festival watching world class movies. And Quala is one of the world class cinema.
Commendable and worth praising making of Quala a period musical thriller which sensationalize you while watching. Definitely it's learning cinema experience.
Direction Anvitta Dutta after Bulbul, music Amit Trivedi, and cinematography by Siddarth Diwan with
royalness of each frame, locations, costumes all are exceptional.
This film dramatically depicted jealousy, mental illness, correct upbringing, which are important factor of people's well to do. There is a need of love affection and appreciation of a child.
Again & again I would like to see this movie. Thanks to production house of Anuskha Sharma for giving such masterpiece. And yes unforgettable performance by Tripty Dimri who has not received recognition which she deserves, Babil and Amit Sial.
Mission Majnu (2023)
Maati ko maa kehte hain..
Maati ko maa Kehte hain..
Mission Majnu..just completed watching on Netflix.
First Raaji and now Mission Majnu...both film inspired by true story of our agency's undercover in Pakistan.
Both movie is worth watching.
Here I will talk about Mission Majnu. A true documented event about blunder of then PM Morarji Desai..which led to total destroy of network of RAW developed by R N Kao. Hundred of our RAW agents killed in Pakistan by Zia Ul Haque due to just ridiculous mistakes by then PM Morarji Desai.
Nuclear Bomb issues related to Pakistan, many of our current generation don't know. Exceptionally amazing Mission Majnu is about that.
Matribhakti Rasthrabhakti khoon may hoti hai..dil may hoti hai..Isko chilla kar dikhaney ki jaroorat nahi hoti..aapkey karm aapki soch rasthraprem dikhlati hai.
Brilliant performance by each and every artist.. Siddarth Malhotra, Rashmi Mandana, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Avijit Dutt and others ..every department of the film is superb. Brilliant delivery by DOP Brijitesh Dey..Production designer Rita Ghosh is as per the period and time..But more was needed in VFX work. Director Shantanu Bagchi has to work in some area..but delivered a masterpiece spy thriller.
Lastly Mission Majnu is a watchable movie for everyone due to the tight script, intelligently written scenes, tight execution, and a memorable performance by Sidhartha and all artist.
Double XL (2022)
Movie with a clear narrative
My Today's watch Movie on Netflix
Double XL
It is a best worked movie. Feel good film.
Either due to some medical issue or due to bad lifestyle and anything eating habits fat peoples become fat, this is clearly shown in this movie that both the lead female character had bad eating habits and they are proud of that, without bothering what other feel about them.
Narrative is how women feel shamed for their fatness, dreams are not achievable if they are not slim and fair.. .. one should have self confidence, passion , and should not worry about society..just believe on your competence & abilities, do what you want to do ,you are beautiful and handsome the way you are.
Sonakshi performed brilliantly and Huma Quresi is simply fabulous rockstar, new guys Zaheer Iqbal & Mahat Raghvendra are flawless.
Script should have been more tight. Music part is OK. Cinematography nothing extraordinary. Directorial part is normal. Concept and storyline is superb with full of clear narrative.
Enjoyed the movie.
