The Kardashians (2022)
Better than I expected, love this new spin!
Never watched KUWTK, I was too young for it when it originally aired & felt like I didn't need to watch it as I got older. I assumed it was inappropriate, trash tv anyways. Now that I'm a young adult & this new show is out I decided to take a chance from what little I know about the Kardashians. I love the new vibe of this show. It shows most of them as mothers or business owners & the personal lives of each person. Little drama as it's about their day to day lives, while the most notable of the Kardashians I think is Kim, as she is truly trying to make a difference in this world by getting death row sentences commuted for wrongly convicted & innocent people. While this show has a lot of negative reviews, I think it comes from the families past reputation & assumptions about them now. I look forward to this show every week.
Monsters at Work (2021)
Much Better than Negative Reviews would lead you to believe
This show is amazing. Introduces new characters, gives a nod to the old, and actually gives you a continued story on laugh energy as opposed to scare energy. It is very childish, but I love that because it means it holds the same audience as in the original film, which is for children. Some don't like Tylor or the maintenance team, but I think they're a fun addition to the Monster World. I'm excited for a season 2 and hope they continue the show. Ten 30 minute episodes wasn't enough. I need more.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Dr. Strange 2? No. WandaVision extended season finale? Yes.
If you were looking for a Dr. Strange heavy movie with lots of character development, you'd be disappointed. This feels more like an extended season finale for WandaVision brought to the big screen. The focus was one big fight between Wanda & Dr. Strange, with some new minor characters brought in but with no real context or development throughout the film. As expected from the trailer & director, this is one of Marvel's darkest films. It's not super demonic, but it will give young kids a scare, & was dark enough that I would never watch this again for solo entertainment. Also plan to go in on a full stomach or with water in hand. There are so many visuals that it sometimes felt like I was watching through a kaleidoscope, way more constant than the first Dr. Strange, & I got nauseous & dizzy throughout the movie. Basically, this movie is better for nothing more than to see WandaVision's story come to an end, & that's pretty much it.
