Mrs. Davis (2023)
5/10
Full series review

The show begins with a feeling as if you're going to witness an incredible sci-fi fantasy adventure, however you would be wrong... dead wrong. If you're a fan of slap stick cartoonish TV then you may enjoy this. The show is meant to feel like it was based on a cult comic book and to the writers credit they achieved their goal. However one Mrs Davis lacks that your favorite comic or graphic novel has is a well developed story line and clear continuity. One major issue with the show is that is fails to offer information in a logical order. Mrs Davis continually jumps around in the plot making the show feel patched together. I believe the show is meant to be funny and light hearted but I didn't laugh once through the whole series and their were To many serious elements for it to Be a comedy. On the other hand it wasn't serious enough to be a thriller or drama so I was left with an amibigous understanding of what the tone should be. I'll be blunt I don't recommend watching this show it's not that funny, not serious enough and patched together .

Devs (2020)

A fair watch but not glorious
26 July 2023
All in all Devs was a decent watch. This is a show that's best to watch when the shows you really love are on a break. Devs is more a drama than it it Sci-fi so if you're looking for a great sci-fi this is not the show for you. In general the acting is decent, the filming is excellent and is all around well produced. However the show falls flat in a few ways. The initial event that sets the plot in motion falls to the way side a little more than half way through which left me feeling apathetic to the wants of the main character. From this moment onward I began to question every decision the main charters would make and was continually let down by there choices. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem however the characters presented to us are supposed to be geniuses. There's much more that can be said but I'll say this I'm closing. If you have some free time it's a decent watch but it's nothing to be upset about if you miss.

This is not worth your time
20 July 2023
This movie had no direction felt meandering and yet somehow these are the positive moments. First there are some continuity issues in the storytelling in that is not a parent when certain things were happening. Second, the main driving force which sets the movie in motion seems a bit like an afterthought. We never really get to connect with the characters or The reasons behind why they feel the way they feel. Which consequently let me feeling disconnected to the outcome of their well-being. The premise to begin with it's not very compelling. If you find yourself extremely bored one day with nothing to do I would suggest you do anything else but watch this movie.

Not for the everyday viewer
10 July 2023
Many of the other reviews seem to focus on the plot of the movie, this review will mostly avoid that. To quickly sum the movie up it's about a guys struggle to stay sober for a year. All of that is well and good but they way the writers portray his saga could give you a headache. Most of the movie is spent jumping around time periods. At one moment it's the present and the next the past to the point that movie feels like it's battling HDHD. In addition the movie employs heavy use of metaphors to illustrate the main characters struggles. However it comes across as a poor attempt at trying to convey the depth of thought someone like Carl Jung or J krishnamerti might. A major drawback is the main actors representation of a person battling with sobriety, it's flat out not believable.
