So I routinely watch bad movies for entertainment. I'm a fan of Neil Breen and the likes, and I'm willing to watch any bad movie at least once. This is the one movie I can genuinely say, without any hint of irony, that I regret watching and that society is worse off for having this film in its record. I only really watched this because I saw Logan Paul criticizing Jordan Peele's "Nope" and I kind of wondered who Logan thought he was, the bold son of a b itch. I'm not saying Jordan Peele is immune to criticism, I haven't even watched Nope. I'm sure it's got plenty to criticize. But my instinctive reaction to Logan criticizing any video of any sort was "You once filmed a real life corpse and also you made some sort of trashy Airplane knockoff." I then realized that I never did watch Airplane Mode and that I should at least make sure it wasn't some hidden masterpiece.
To summarize this film in a sentence: Douchebag who films real life dead bodies is vain enough to think he can make a film as funny as Airplane.
Turns out, Logan Paul and everyone involved in this "film" are not only unfunny, they are the MOST unfunny, and also the writers should get therapy. While talking about this film to my friends and trying to explain various scenes to them, I found myself genuinely worried about pressing send because the scenes being described sounded so horribly obscene that I felt as though I was committing a crime. Take for example the scene where Logan Paul gives mouth to mouth to a corpse that has human ejaculate in its mouth. Yeah, you read that correctly, and honestly context does not help a whole lot nor does it make it funny. The movie's entire sense of humor is just mentioning sex acts with no punchline, and occasionally saying or doing really obscene things that aren't even funny. I swear to God, I would rather eat a bowl of rusty nails than watch this again.
Ultimately, it makes me wonder if Logan Paul even knows why Airplane (1980) was actually funny, because Airplane Mode is just an influencer circlejerk that takes place on a passenger plane. I wish I never saw this.
