Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only (2023)
It was fun until the end
This is an entertaining documentary about Chris Rock and Kevin Hart's friendship and healthy professional relationship, and how it all comes together when they perform, along with Dave Chapelle, in the Madison Square Garden. It is very interesting to see how these comedians got to be stars: hard work, discipline, perseverance and self awareness, and how others think high about them, because they formed a real entourage over the years.
I was really enjoying this show until the last part at the Madison Square Garden, where Hart had the dumb idea of bringing a goat on stage to "honor" Chris Rock being the GOAT. That poor goat was trembling, terrified and defecating itself out of fear. I love animals and I can't believe people still put innocent beings in awkward situations just for a laugh. Sorry, but this is a big NO for me.
Mr. Mercedes (2017)
Watch only season 1!
I gave this show an 8 star rating only because I'm considering season 1. Season 2 is a whole different show, that steps out of the psycho murderer hunting, to turn into a paranormal show, which at least I, don't like. At episode 2 of season 2, I just turned off my TV. Season 1 got to scare me a little bit, and I usually watch true crime shows without much left to surprise me.
Brendan Gleeson is one of a kind, almost the feeling you get with Brian Cox in Succession. I'm sorry he had to continue this show after season 1, because otherwise it would have been a true masterpiece. I loved to see Mary-Louise Parker as well, as I was a Weeds fan.
The Love Club (2023)
There is a series? I could barely finish this one
I can't believe someone actually put money into making this movie, and that the script was approved. I stayed until the end, to be able to review it and see if something improved by the end of the picture, but everything kept getting worse. This isn't even a movie to watch when you don't want to pay attention and watch your cellphone, because the bad acting and script will make your head hurt.
And they say this is part of a series of movies? Sorry, this was more than enough. The only good part of it is that I turned off the TV and grabbed a book to ease my mind and nurture it after too much dumbness.
DOC - Nelle tue mani (2020)
Entertaining but the music drove me mad
This is a very predictable but entertaining show. Seems like they took the Grey's Anatomy and House recipes and blend it into an Italian mixture. Acting is not great but not terrible and Milan as a stage is the best character of them all.
I must say, though, that the one unbearable thing here is the music. They picked the worst song in the history of music and that is the ONLY song they play from the start of the show until the very last episode!!! I was about to start watching it on mute. Awful!
Normal People (2020)
Beautiful and incredibly well written/acted
I have to say I've seen hundreds and hundreds of shows over the years and this has to be one of my favorites of all times. I was amazed on how beautifully written it was, all the actors were perfect in their roles and the chemistry between Paul and Daisy is something I don't think I've ever seen before. Those kisses were just poetry.
I'm hoping for a second season, but if we only get one, then I'm happy I got to watch it. Thank you for the heartbeats.
The Affair (2014)
Season finale got me in tears
I never left a review before, but with all the bad comments about season 5, I needed to state I was addicted to this show from day 1 and never stopped loving it, but I've always believed the last episode from a series will ultimately define the quality of it. The season finale and the end of the show was absolutely perfect: beautiful, emotional and closing the perfect circle. I don't have enough words to describe how caught I was with Dominic West and Maura Tierney; I can just say I will truly miss these characters now that they are gone!!!
