Northern Exposure: Let's Dance (1995)
The worst episode out of 110.
Horrible. Simply a horrible episode!
How sad to see this once entertaining and pleasantly quirky show bite the dust. They should have ended it halfway through this season. They could have easily wrapped up the main character story lines in 2-3 good episodes after Joel departed instead of some of the silliness the last dozen episodes have as storylines. It's evident the writers were just trying to fill the time slot with anything nonsensical they could come up with. While the actors remained great, I can't help but wonder if they didn't revolt against the scripts. Kudos to them for sticking it out, but after Rob Morrow had contract disputes, I guess everyone else just went with the flow to get to the series finale as quickly as possible.
The Closer: Dial M for Provenza (2008)
Keystone Cops Caper!
Sure this episode is wacky, silly and nonsensical - but it's a nice bit of comic relief, and all in good fun. It's full of mishaps and stereotypes, especially with Jennifer Coolidge in her usual dumb blonde role while her husband is the usual sleazy car dealer - and both play their roles well. It's as if the cast and crew went on vacation mode and were out to push the 'out of character' envelope! Also, as a huge Provenza fan, this was better than watching him eat popcorn in the electronics room during interviews or using dummies labeled with his ex-wives names to test murder theories.
Enjoy the comedy for the 'joyride' that it is!
Bosch: Legacy: Horseshoes and Hand Grenades (2022)
3 words: CRATE and BARREL!
Loved seeing C&B in this episode! I admit I have missed LT, J Edgar, and some of the 'old crew' in the detective squad. Agree with other reviewers about Maddie: her sourpuss face and story line distracts from an otherwise great series. Wish she was delegated to a minor secondary storyline.
