Discontinued (2022)
Happened before & happening again...
Some have called it "The 4th Turning," others call it "The Great Reset;" regardless of what it's called, it an Industrial Revolution of sorts (again). So many things go into this new Industrial whirlwind that promises to make the previous industrial revolutions primitive and obsolete.
One of the features of this future for humanity is Virtual Reality while another is Transhumanism. This movie explores this perceived reality, from a point of view similar to that of ants. Ants represent a collective society; And, this new industry proposes that we are as well, it we are to adapt and survive this all.
I just added this editorial.
This flick is actually very complicated with respect to the multiple layers and themes (imagined & addressed) - related to our very future, that which is unraveling every day...
The Covenant (2023)
Hollywood telling stories that matter most?
Or is Hollywood trying to spin victimization from American Patriotic themes? Either way, the point is that The USA Government abandoned this country, leaving something like $80 million worth of military armament/weapons, giving up key Airway and base which is near border with China. Then Taliban and other terrorists kill our troops- so we, in turn , kill an entire innocent family. We left them abruptly, many of them being USA Citizens and loaded plane loads of insurgents from Taliban and other terrorists. This was actually one in a series of shocks to our national security and sovereignty. This is but a piece of the story...
Blood (2022)
It's better than what many reviews rate
Michelle Monaghan is one of my favorites. It's unusual (for me) to see her in a role like this- part monster and all mother. I suppose every mother could potentially become a monster in order to protect her kid.
The movie is indeed a horror. It begins as a drama and develops as a thriller, eventually it results in horror. I liked the pace, although I found myself easily distracted early on. But, as the flick progressed, I found myself glued to the edge of my seat.
I would anticipate a sequel of some sort (or a prequel) because the myth has not been established; that is, what the origin and nature of the evil is...
Ben-Hur (2016)
Awesome!
I understand that this flick got criticized in USA for it's Christian (underlying) theme; but, it's not overdone, not by any manner. Besides, the original novel was a Christian based story. Back in the 1800's, when the original novel was written, Christian culture predominated and the novel was critically acclaimed.
The movie is poignant indeed. It is set around the time of Christ; albeit, a fictional account during the early days. The production, acting, etc...are not by any means cheezy. It even has diversity and inclusion in that the main characters are Black or Brown and White People are the bad guys.
Speak No Evil (2022)
Wait till the end...
It's well acted and all that goes with well made flicks. The main thing the movie has going (against) it is it's tempo- it's just too slow and mundane until near end (of the movie).
But, that's when it got good, so good that it made watching the movie until then. To be fair, the pace did accelerate progressively, just a tad slow for me. It's worth watching.

Emily the Criminal (2022)
Excellent!
Not a flick I would think I would enjoy- but, it was excellent! I don't typically like flicks that feature criminals and the anti-hero/dark hero (in this case heroine) is not my thing really (with exception to Dead Pool, that is...). I am also not familiar with this actress; yet, I think she has star potential.
Listen, y'all, it's a good flick!

Fall (2022)
Great Flick
It's very done well. Left me in suspense. All I could keep saying to myself is why? Why would they? Then I remembered the days when I was in my early twenties- jumping out of airplanes, climbing city buildings under construction (high ones in Philly) and jumping beams while drinking beer with friends. Yet, today, do kids challenge life for real? Or virtually? With all the people afraid of being infected with a bug, I doubt it...

Day Shift (2022)
Underlying occult sense...
Like the badge in the elevator, a sheriffs star but positioned upside down as a satanic pentagon. I believe he calls his daughter "Ho." Weird things like that made me feel off.
Elvis (2022)
What a mess!
Scattered scenes that leave jump and change before you can enjoy the experience you anticipated, leaving you serially unfulfilled and wanting. It's like watching a choppy action flick, but this is not an action flick. Kinda like bad sex, when you get in a rhythm and your partner abruptly pushes you away and out leaving you to climax on your own, in the cold. Don't expect to enjoy any music performances. It's just a mess.
Rogue Agent (2022)
Fascinating Character...
For me, it was a case study in expert application of Neurolinguistic Programming. Do you wonder why someone falls for a con or a woman (I suppose this can apply to a man) falls for a man? The characters are well presented, especially true for the main character. This is not a typical spy action flick- it's deeper...
Prey (2022)
Had to rewatch it...
First time, I rejected it due to wokeness. But decided to try watching it again fully and found I enjoyed the flick. It is Sci-Fi (afterall) so it's possible that a 16 y/o girl could take on the Predator, based on pure physical skill and heart. It had A+ effects and the scenes (like fight scenes) were done perfectly. Great acting and sound plot (despite the wokeness).
Resurrection (2022)
It's a horror flick...
Given that it is a horror flick, I guess it's possible for a man to eat a baby and then carry it inside him for decades, until he gets an unwilling C-Section. I guess that would be possible in hell. Since there is no womb (men just don't have wombs), the baby that reformed in his peritoneum could have been nourished by fecal matter in his colon (yuch)!
Kateo (2022)
It's like you are playing a video game.
Not atrocious- most definitely watchable. Not heavy on woke themes (which is a serious plus). Choreography (fighting) is choppy, could be better, but is not silly. Plot is typical for action film (which is basically what it is). It's worth watching if you want to escape in an action flick.
The Black Phone (2021)
Retro
I hope this marks the return of great horror plots. It was original and well done. It was devoid of work themes which rob from the experience of watching a flick for the purpose of entertainment & escape.
What Happened to Monday (2017)
It has happened historically...
And, history has a tendency to repeat itself. Unfortunately, it's never (really) about population being too large to be supported by our world - as you can fit the current entire population of the world in a state the size of Texas and still live comfortably. It's about land speculation and slavery...
Warcraft (2016)
Excellent!
As a one time World of Warcraft player (I was a Rogue), who spent hours, even days playing, I have to say- it's spot on. It needs to be continued (sequels). The experience of the movie (sensation) was similar reconnecting me to the enchanted adventure I once engaged in instead of the reality of life.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Who exactly is the enemy?
It was okay and commendable even for not lecturing us on wokeness. Tom Cruise's love interest is even a real woman - they are not denying the existence of such a thing (although it would have been interesting to have a Black Transgender Woman in such a role- and for not allowing that one has to consider if Cruise is a chicken)...
What Is a Woman? (2022)
Amazing (to me) that the question has to be asked...
This flick examines the issue of gender identity as defined by the transgender community and advocates. I remember when I was really young, my (two) older sisters would beat me up. One day, during/after pubescence, I knew they could no longer do that and was compelled to prove it to each of them. They never hit me again after. There is a significant difference between the biological male and the biological female (especially after Puberty). Blocking puberty is going to prove disastrous to overall society. An answer to the question of "what is a woman," should be clear - the opposite of what a man is.
Ecco (2019)
Honestly, it's a deep movie
When I watched Terminator- first one, I was young and in the Army. The storyline was so innovative and romantic- it remained my favorite sci-fi flick. This tale, for me is similar (emotionally)...
The Lost City (2022)
Made me wonder...
Is Channing Tatum gay or bisexual? I'm sorry, but I can't get into this new thing. I stopped watching the NFL after 40 years due to their proclamation. Maybe , we can all go our separate ways- they have their exclusive world devoid of fans and we can have real flicks again (devoid of having our psyche imposed upon). I liked it better when I lived according to "live and let live," but since it's not enough for THEM, let's just part company.
A Day to Die (2022)
I now know where all the White Supremacists are!!!
The FBI (DOJ), President (Government), DOD (military), Congress (politicians), etc...keep talking about the White Supremacists, Right-Wing Extremists that are the highest threat to our (USA) nation. As an Hispanic American, of course I wanna know where they all are so I am not targeted by this horror. Try as I have, I haven't been able to find solid evidence for their presence. Perhaps, it because BLM/ANTIFA are taking up all the coverage due to their activity (burning down country, killing cops, shooting young children). But, this flick helped me to understand where the horrible White Supremacist Extremists are- they are in Hollywood (acting)...
A Thousand Little Cuts (2022)
Surprising
Just when I thought it was a strict Feminist flick, the ending says more than the entire story. There is enough blame to go around; yet, Justice is not equal- and that doesn't mean that the victim is who one assumes...
Moonfall (2022)
Entertaining!
Definitely a big screen flick - too bad theaters are not appealing place to go since the controllavirus plannedemic.
That said, it's definitely preparing people for transhumanism- even to the point of the proposed uploading of consciousness.
Svart krabba (2022)
Naomi Rapace Classic!
I'm a fan of Naomi Rapace and I don't understand why- well, maybe because she is a great actress who takes on roles that very few can and should but makes them work. It's a good flick, really good...
Fresh (2022)
Very good horror flick.
Think of hostile- it's not the same theme but on same level of horror. Does a great job of balancing what is a horrifying situation with acting and events that take the edge off (which is a good thing in that it's not just gore and horror). But, it's actually something that is happening today and has been happening for ages. Realizing that actually people do this (it's a real thing) should be horrifying enough- don't need anything else.
