Uncoupled (2022)
Why so harsh
So some people don't like the show, because it's not what their lives look like. Okay. We should also discredit Game of Thrones, Star Wars and any other fictional production that doesn't refer exactly to what the reality of any human of the world is. Let's just quit storytelling and cinematography altogether. And don't you dare watch TV shows for fun.
NPH, I've missed you. It's interesting to see him all grown up, in a production that contradicts his previous roles (insecure and lost as opposed to confident). I've missed seeing NYC on screen, and the fancy part of it. There was no forced wokeness, just people being friends with people.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Where is the plot? Where's your thank you to Willy?
Shouldn't a storyline be the first thing to think of when making a show/movie? There isn't any. (Other than showing social issues down our throats, that is.) 10 episodes happened for nothing.
The things I hated the most:
- The way they said goodbye to our beloved Stanford (they didn't). Not even i credits, not a word at the end of the series. It felt like literal slap in the face. How dare you just brush him off (to Japan, using tiktok) like he meant nothing to the show. This only proves how bad writing was, and how out of touch the producers are.
- Most people in their 50's don't act and talk and develop every health issue as if they were 90. People in their 50's manage to walk a flight of stairs without having to mention their so-old-age.
- How mean Charlotte is. Not "men like bitches" mean - she's cynical, seems to hate her life, disrespects her husband, doesn't like her kids. She used to be a gentle romantic with a warm heart, now she's a Stepford Wife.
- I'm not even getting started on Miranda "falling mutually in love" with Che after 2 weeks of "it's the weed talking" and "did you DM me? I must have missed it". But what do I know about romance.
The Girl Before (2021)
Loved the book
I loved the book, therfore I did not like the series. The way they portrayed Edward is very off. His character in the book was captivating, charizmatic, cold-ish, hyper intelligent, a straight talker, never sorry for who he was and what he wanted to represent. Edward from the series is more confused than confident, he appears needy and unsure. The story was supposed to be based on his narciccistic and over the top tendencies. For the story to be a full on thriller, it was lacking in that department from the very first scene.
