Argylle (2024)
well well well...it's pretty fine
Well, what's the job of a movie? Ok, in some cases it's to educate or to bring you fear and horror but in many cases it's just to entertain. Argylle did the latter one pretty well. The start is a little slow but then it's a rollercoaster full of action and fun. Is the story super deep? Won't say so. Is it anything extraordinary? Probably not. But the story itself is cool, the actors are fine and well casted, the characters are created in a way that you can connect to them, the action is good and over the top (willfull of course) and there is a cat involved. So I had a very good time at the movies. There were no boring parts or scenes where you hope, they might be over soon. On the contrary, there are many scenes to enjoy and watch with glee. I must say, I liked kingsmen a little bit more, but still, Argylle is a fine movie if you want an evening of good entertainment.
By the way: Some people here write it's the worst movie they ever saw. I wonder what they watch in general? Only Arthouse Movies from the 70ies? Seriously, i could name some german comedy flicks that make this movie look like "citizen kane". So sometimes it looks like these critics are just here to load off their garbage and feel a little bit sophisticated.
Ragnarok (2020)
good show.... the ending.. well
I liked the show in general... i liked the characters, the whole northern mythology content, the fantasy stuff mixed with a normal norwegian smalltown, the actors were really good.... and i discovered that saxa is a great singer in real life..... the ending nevertheless was a merely lame solution....like the writers wanted just a way to end it quickly.... a lot of the show does not make sense anymore... all the scenes where magne was not involved.... how did the hikers die? Did they die? Or the new girl in the enterprise who was suddenly gone.... did magnes father really die because of jutul industries? Did this powerful family become just good and kind out of nothing? And if they are not giants, why is mother jutul working in a school. Who would do this in a position so rich and powerful? And i dont think that people who really suffer from schizophrenia or other mental health problems have such a good time and such a happy ending... in general these sicknesses are somthing you have to deal with all your life more or less.
Ragnarok: Ragnarok (2023)
well well well...the mental health "solution"
A lot has already been written about the ending... I agree that the whole show just makes sense if magne laid in his bed the whole time and imagined everything... otherwise a lot does not make sense... every scene that we see without magne being involved....
but i wanted to add something else... i'm not shure what i think about the way this ending handles mental health problems... i know several people who had mental problems, depression, schizophrenia and.psychosis and other stuff and noone ever just imagined stuff or a fantasy world.... in reality these sicknesses are really crappy and terrible... also you can of cause get good therapy if you are lucky and good medication but in the end, the sickness will probably never be really healed or disappear completely... in the show it looks like magne suddenly is fine again, free from all "imaginations" are working perfectly in the real life suddenly... that looks like a lame view on these kind of sicknesses....and the end itself is weird... are norwegians that kind that the rich and powerful hang out with the homeless?
Seriously, like in other tv shows it seems that the writers did not put much effort in the final because it was meant to end anyway and that sucks.. .
Electric Jesus (2020)
lovely movie
Very kind and heartfelt movie... loved the details like the band posters on the wall of rare groups like undercover and others... also the band-songs in the movie are really good and could have been done by a "real" band... actors were great... ending was a little rushed and for me a little too negative for no real band would break up just because of one bad gig... but in general a great movie, especially if you grew up with christian rock.
