Fresh (2022)
loved it
Great acting, great cinematography, i thought everything was great. The reviews saying it wasn't well done enough horror are by men who are horror snobs imo because if you are female presenting and payed attention to the details in this film, it was scary even if you thought it was a "typical" horror movie. I don't like scary stuff but i really appreciated this movie and loved the deeper metaphors for dating and the treatment of women bodies in general. Phenomenal acting by the cast.
Gayby (2012)
i seriously really liked it.
The jokes are great, and they hold up ten years later. Not straight people gay humor, but queer people gay humor, i laughed a lot. Also the fact that there was a comic book store setting was queer nerd representation! Tldr went in thinking it was a joke and watched for adam driver but actually really enjoyed it.
Free Guy (2021)
actually really good
Honestly the movie was really well done and really enjoyable, from the acting to cinematography and effects, it was all great. I thought it did a really good job with touching on working in the video game industry, and the whole concept of ai being brought to life was also really well done in a way that was sweet instead of stereotypically ai wants to destroy the world i guess? I think the moment that sold it for me was when guy and millie were having bubblegum ice cream in the game, and he was like "it tastes like a sunset exploded on my mouth!" or whatever, and he had been saying similar outrageous analogies every day before when getting his coffee. So its like his small connection to reality with millie, idk that part just got me. And also the fact that guy fell in love with millie because it was in his code because keys programmed him that way because she was the love of his life??? I could cry for hours. I always love a joe keery character and i always love a taika waititi movie, so all in all great experience. I saw it for taika in the first place but now really like the movie so hey.
