Napoleon (2023)
A movie that seems to have been directed by a random English villager
Honestly, my rating is so high because of all the technical work put into the movie (camera, costumes, etc) Other than that I just feel sorry I sat for 3 hours to watch this epic failure, the shallowness of which will probably echo through the Zeitgeist of this century.
The worst of all was not even that everyone spoke English with American accent, and it was hard to distinguish French from English, Austrians or Russians. The worst was the dialogues so poorly written that the greatest actors can't make them make sense if they had an acting superpower.
The only thing that was somewhat okay were the battle scenes but they can't really compensate for the rest.
Doraibu mai kâ (2021)
No less than a masterpiece
The film is a beautiful depiction of life and how it feels to live. It's sad, exhausting, weird but at the same time exiting, mysterious, wonderful. It shows life as a form of art. And it shows that masterfully!
Dr. Brain (2021)
Don't read the reviews from American viewers
Absolutely immersive thriller and amazing storytelling, acting, and directing. But it has nothing to do with Hollywood so if you can't read subtitles just pick something else. I am actually amazed by Apple investing in Korean shows.
