Jesus Revolution (2023)
Inspired by Reefer Madness?
The misrepresentation of psychedelics and therefore core spirit of the hippie culture in this movie is beyond words. There are parts in this film you can get the impression you are watching a successor of Reefer Madness. They don't even try to paint a differentiated picture. Instead ingestion of psychedelics is one-dimensionally summarized with ingestion of drugs in general as the badest decision one could make - suggesting that "tripping" is nothing but insanely loosing ones mind, producing sinister situations, probably killing you and of course making you laugh like an evil lunatic as we have seen in Reefer Madness. Sorry, but we have 2023 and if you know nothing about the facts when it comes to psychedelics, don't make a film like this.
Paper Girls (2022)
I feel robbed of my time by this slow pace of boring writing
I have to think that these high score ratings are fake. Or they must be written by people that haven't watched any scy fi show in the last ten years. This show is so boring, dull and full of old tropes, it is hard to believe. It has the writing quality of a student project. There are so many scenes where nothing is happening and you can't help but think they tried desperately to fill content into an episode lacking desperately of fresh ideas.
In no way this show came out of a mind sprinkling of inspiration. It feels like a forced creation and I feel sorry for anyone giving this high scores. Please don't expose yourself to this black hole of originality.
