Sanae matseon (2022)
Light hearted, funny and romantic
Well I cannot say this is my favourite drama of all time but it sure gave me two of my favourite characters and those are Shin Haa-ri and Jin Young-seo. These two best friends give us friendship goals in every frame they are in. They truly define that friendship isn't about class or status but a bond formed overtime which keeps growing on stronger and stronger.
This Romantic Comedy drama shows the journey of our lead couple Kang Tae-moo and Shin Haa-ri and our second lead couple Cha Sung-hoon and Jin Young-seo.
There are many funny moments in the entire series. Haa-ri's team members and Young-seo's cousin are hilarious at times and have good timing. Especially the cousin held on her role very well. She's most funny when she speaks in English. The cousin interaction in the car is one of the best funny scene I've seen this year.
The series has successfully paved the romantic road for both the couples at their own speed. They haven't rushed into anything which I liked.
Another thing I liked about the storyline is that there isn't any past connections of the lead characters which is seen in many K-dramas. There is a disturbing past of the lead character but is handled in a matured manner by the lead couple.
And lastly the bond of the young generation with their parents. I loved how the Shin family had practically adopted Yeoung-su and in return how she is so down to earth and kind, caring and helpful towards Haa-ri's parents.
Overall I liked the drama. The first half was really good and I feel they could have made the second half a bit short. There wasn't much of a story there and I found it a bit boring. The second lead couple is what kept me going till the last episode.
Even if this isn't my favourite it surely is one which I enjoyed and loved the most. It was different in some ways and didn't have some ingredients a typical kdrama has. I also loved the ending. They haven't streched that part much and has wrapped up the drama as it should have been.
Haepiniseu (2021)
Thriller story with a pinch of romance ..
Plot: Good. Not boring at all. The subject (man-made rabies) is not side tracked or forgotten at any point of the series. Romantic storyline is blended perfectly.
Characters: Strong characters. They really did show how people can be greedy enough to not care about others at all (realistic). The main characters give us many #couplegoals. There's one arrogant and irritating character (there's one in every movie/series).
Acting: Perfectly played their characters. Han Hyo-Joo plays the bossbitch Sae Bom and Park Hyun-Shik plays the brilliant spy + best friend/husband character. Some of the scenes are very well executed. And not only the main characters but the side characters also give a remarkable performance however shot their role is.
In a gist it's an engaging series. I completed it in 3 days. I was delaying watching this because I thought I would get bored because of all the zombie thing but they have not overdone the scenes so I never got bored. Recommended!!!
Eoneu Nal (2021)
Story : Murder of innocence .. (watch it for acting)
So it was not a "who-did-it?" drama..
At first I thought it would be like any other drama but it is different.. the story does not revolve only around the victim or the murderer or the lawyers but everyone is equally involved in it (Hyun-Soo being in the centre ofcourse). The real victim is the innocence of an ordinary boy and the killer is the corrupt system who will prove that the boy himself is responsible for losing his innocence. Even if you've watched the original series (this one is a remake) I would recommend this to all because of the acting. This is the second drama of Kim Soo-hyun and I can say he's really good at playing anycharacter.
Zombivli (2022)
A film worth a watch for its acting and music
I'll be honest I wasn't sure about this film till I watched the first 10 mins of the movie.
I loved how they were straight to the point since the beginning. No lingering storyline and no overly streched scenes.
So first the plot: same as any other zombie movie but that's fine.
Characters: Everyone played their part well. No overacting and no drama (except this one character of a grandpa - which was unnecessary for the plot according to me).
The action scenes were good. No over the top actions and CGI was used. The background music supported the action and acting perfectly. The comic element was added which gave a good flavour to the movie though there was this one scene which was repeated way to often it became boring.
The last 5 mins were something that could have been different. I felt the ending was wrapped up very quickly. But apart from those last minutes the entire movie from the beginning is a treat.
Encanto (2021)
Encanto: full of magical characters but non-magical storyline
First I'll talk what I loved and that is the message it has and the only strong point they had but it is not highlighted and is shadowed under mannny songs it has.
I had only heard few verses from the musical numbers from this movie on Insta reels and was looking forward to watch it. But the story did not enchant me at all and I'm quite disappointed tbh.
So in a gist this movie is about a magical family with one non-magical member "Mirabel" and the prophecy of them losing the powers.
I know not every movie will satisfy everyone so I don't judge hard. I loved the animations, some parts of songs are catchy and the characters were fun and real except the character of grandmother. She is literally a bully in the movie. Like seriously. From the minute she encounters the main character Mirabel she never spares a moment reminding her that she isn't one of them and that she must remain far from others so that she cannot make others like her. And when everything is falling apart she blames her openly in front of her whole family and then when Mirabel runs away and the grandmother finds her and tells her her past we are supposed to feel sorry for her. Just like that. In a minute she's from a bully granny to a good granny and this is so unreal.
I don't get it. Like if I was a kid I might have not got it and I would've been sorry for the old lady but I'm not a kid and I cannot accept that. The old lady says that we must protect our family and the magic but she only cares about magic and nothing else to be very honest. She is outcasting her own grand child for Christ's sake. It's like Harry Potter. When wizards/witches marry muggles and a kid is born with no magical powers and so the kid is left out by other family members coz they are they are too proud of themselves. I refuse to forgive the old lady so easily. I know it's a kids movie but use the unrealistic approach on other things and not on human emotions is all I want to say.
But I must say it's a one time watch for the animation. It's really great. I wished the cousins got more screentime as they were well written but 2-3 of them just got one song and some of them were only introduced in 2-3 lines and that's it.
This one's really overrated. I love Disney movies so much but this one - would never watch again.
