Devdas (2002)
OMG, I loved this movie!
I watched this movie more than once. Each time it gets better and better. I still cry at the end. I still have hope for the two star-crossed lovers. I love Shak Rukh Khan. He's very easy on the eyes, and one of the best actors I have ever seen. He can act, sing, and dance. He is very stylish. The songs in the movie were AWESOME! I bought the CD! Aishwarya Rai was completely breathtaking in this movie. Her acting skills are immense. Her voice is beautiful. You can feel her love for Devdas through the TV screen so much that you fall for him. UGH! WATCH THIS MOVIE! You will not be disappointed. If this is your first go on Bollywood films, then this a great first choice. This was my first film that got me hooked onto Bollywood movies. Now, I find Bollywood movies better than Hollywood movies. They have action, drama, romance, song/dance, and comedy ALL IN ONE! It's great. Now, I am collector of Shah Rukh Khan movies! See more of his movies...you will NOT be disappointed. Sorry ladies, but he is married! Yea, I know I was disappointed at that as well. I AM HIS BIGGEST American FAN!!!!!
Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997)
Bad bad bad Bobby! (The hair has got to go!)
One star got knocked off because of Bobby's hair style. They guy is hot, so don't give him a horrible hair style! The other reason why this star was knocked off was because of the outfits....HORRIBLE, HIDEOUS, GROTESQUE 80's getup! I am a fashion lover, and these outfits in the movie was a fashion no-no. Another star got knocked off because of the dancing/ singing routines. They came in at weird places in the movie. One minute they were in a house and the next minute they were out in the middle of nowhere. HOW DID THEY GET THERE??? WAS IT A DREAM??? You have to let some clues as to why they should sing and dance at that moment. The costumes were hideous in the dance/song scenes. Choreography sucked. Who designed these dance moves? Even I can dance like that without practice :) Again, the guy is hot...make him look hot, please. The last star was knocked off because of crazy lady's unibrow. It was very startling to see a unibrow on film. You think they would have eyebrow waxings on set? It doesn't hurt. I get it every done every month. Was the actress resilient to getting her eyebrow waxed?
The good! I loved the plot. It was sneaky, and I was kept on the edge of my seat (or in this case bed) the whole time. I know who the killer was from the very beginning. First, take a look at the necklace. Who could it belong to? That's all I'm saying. Figure out who the killer is for yourself.
Humraaz (2002)
A review for a great thriller from an American girl.
I have seen lots of Indian films, and this one is ranked in my top 10. Bobby Deol was fantastic in this movie...not to mention HOT! From Gupt to Humraaz, his acting and his hair are both getting better. The plot was sneaky. You didn't know what was going to happen next. I was totally shocked with the ending. True traditional Indian culture about love and marriage shines through in this movie. Bobby Deol's sweet side shines through as well. He can be rough and tough...you know bad guy written all over him...that's what I like about him (it's sexy). When these Indian movies work, they really WORK WELL! Also, the music and dance scenes worked well in this movie since most of the actors were from a dance group. They put a lot of work into the dancing, and it showed.
