Two Doors Down: Ian's Ex (2023)
Season 7, Episode 3

Funny but heart felt
21 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Two doors down when it does it well does it very well. Whilst picking up on the some of the aged stereotypes of the past of gay men and some of the humour that goes alone side it, this episode manages to capture humour that will make both gay men laugh as well as your wider audience .This balanced with the stark truths of the experiences of gay men growing up at school in the 80s and 90s and the realisation from Eric that he did not realise what was going on and the regret that came with it was indeed heart felt. Cathy's and Colin's need to know all the gritty details and Christine more concerned about the hot puddings available make this the perfect episode and the icing on the cake.

Colin from Accounts: Bandit (2022)

Awful episode spoils great series
8 May 2023
Not sure what happened with this episode but I found I had to fast forward through most of it. The characters introduced as Ashley's friends are cringy, ageist, self obsessed and un-relatable. The character development of Ashley shows her as selfish and the way she treats Gordon makes you think he actually deserves better. Whilst Ashley's character had been shown throughout the series to have some quirks, these were likeable but I did a complete 360 on her and ended not liking her much by the end of this episode. Let's hope that the last episode manages to redeem her as quite frankly Colin deserves better too. As for Ryan, let's just say you will echo Gordon's comments of what he hopes happens to him.

The Magic has gone
15 July 2021
Having loved the first two films in the series this film was such a disappointment and in truth I prefer to remember them as a due rather than count this one.

The first two films capture a perfect moment in time and take me away to those what if moments we all experience in life ie what if I hadn't got on that train, what if I wasn't in that place at that time.

Each prior film takes a moment in time and explores whilst exploring a beautiful European City. Those moments that like a photograph within the mind can be held and looked at for years to come.

Before Midnight however is like a sharp slap in the face, a reality of what could be if we followed another path. In reality it probably fits but unfortunately does not fit with the tone and the warmth of the prior films. Also as a final comment I hate but they're done with Depner's character who has gone from someone who is light and romantic in the first two to neurotic and bitter.

Another Life (2019–2021)

Well Worth a watch and great soundtrack
8 January 2020
I completely disagree with most of the negative reviews on here. Whilst the show may not be the most ground breaking in terms of Science Fiction it kept my interest. Kate is great as a lead character and will certainly appeal to Ripley or Janeway fans.

Some of the characters are flawed but the relationships and sexual chemistry between some of the characters are refreshing and try what shows like Star Trek have failed to do before; i.e a trans relationship.

I also loved the Soundtrack and some of the use of modern dance and Electronic music which helps build up some really good moments in the development of the story.

Looking forward to Season 2.

Dreadful
26 November 2019
I have to agree with the other review here stating that the other reviews must be made up. I only managed half an hour and that was a struggle. Well where to start... well there is no evident plot to follow, the characters flat and the songs which again serve no purpose are cringe worthy to say the least.

When I saw the trailer for this I could not work out what it was about other than it has several key well known actors mainly Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury. I can only think they are too old now to realise what they were signing up for.

Ps Emily no wonder you did not look like you were enjoying the hot chocolate..the cup was empty.

Class Reunion (1982)

My favourite Movie of all time
30 April 2010
OK now this movie wont be for everyone but it happens to be my absolute favourite movie of all time. I remember first seeing this when I was about 7 years old and I haven't stopped watching it since. There is no master plot, a high school student is tricked into having it off with his twin sister and then choose to take revenge on them all at his ten year reunion. Trouble is his former class mates are all a bunch of weirdos so the job is easier said then done.

The former class mates are all very weird from the woman who has sold her soul to the devil (Dolores Salk) to the former beauty Queen Meridith in her stylish silver dress. This film is very about the character interaction and the humour.

Favourite scene - When Dolores first meets up with Bunny at the bar - weird but genius. Yes that is her thumb she uses to light a cigarette.

Star Trek: Voyager (1995–2001)

Forget prequals, Voyager is the best
17 February 2007
Voyager rocks! I am really fed up with traditional Trekkie's always moaning about how brilliant the original series was. I hated it! I have many friends who actually dislike Star Trek but actually don't mind Voyager. Year of Hell has to go down as the best episode of any star trek series I have ever seen. Its a pity this series didn't move forward on to the big screen as Kate Mulgrews, Katherine Hepburn qualities would have been great on the big screen.

Star Treks current direction of heading into prequel territory however has left me bored with the genre as it just doesn't work. Enterprise proved that. Please can people just move on from Kirk and Spock and let Trek move forward into the future and exploring new frontiers which is what Trek is about.
