Little Women (2019)
Wonderful comfort movie
At this point, I've probably watched this movie seven or eight times. It's something I can watch when I need a pick me up because I genuinely enjoy it that much. I'd also never read the book until after watching it, but that only made me love it more. I think too often the movies will stray away from what the book does, but not this one. This was a beautiful adaptation. Though there were differences, I think Greta did a great job at making this film enjoyable for today's age while still keeping Jo's beliefs in tact.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
I'm a friend of your son's
As someone who is a massive Marvel fan, I absolutely loved this and would watch it over and over. It doesn't leave much to wonder about in my opinion and has some of the greatest fight scenes I've seen.
Fighting with My Family (2019)
Great way to write a biography
One of the best feelings after a movie is feeling so into it that you have to go do research afterwards. This movie did a great job of keeping me interested and wanting more. After it ended, I couldn't help but go and find out where she is today and everything else. Great movie, great acting, great writing. Overall, loved it.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (2021)
Great origin
Snake Eyes was great in terms of origin story telling and a good setup for a sequel. I personally really enjoyed
all of the sword fighting scenes but one of my top things that I loved about this was the bad ass female representation that wasn't forced.
I Saw the Light (2015)
Sometimes actors are the only good part
Tom and Elizabeth are absolutely impeccable actors but they can't do much with a poorly written script. It just felt a little too bland when you take into account all of what happened in Hank's life.
Wind River (2017)
Amazing start to finish
IMPECCABLE acting from both Jeremy and Elizabeth. They work so well together on screen. I loved the awareness that Sheridan did with this one. Amazing set up and writing. I would recommend this movie to everyone I know.
Very Good Girls (2013)
Bland drama
If this movie was supposed to irritate you from start to finish with the plot, then it was a great movie. I just can't get over how bland the story was. It felt strung out and not thought through well enough.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)
Too short
Interesting plotline... I honestly couldn't judge it too harshly since I did not realize it was a sequel going into it. One thing that really stood out to me was that Taylor's character was written weird (or it was just bad acting?), unsure. It was SUPER short though and that made it feel ridiculously rushed.
Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)
I want to like it
I so badly want to like this movie. It gives a great visual of what a cult can look like in real life, but honestly left me quite bored at times. Elizabeth Olsen is a gem and her acting in this, alongside Sarah Paul, are some of the only things that got me through it.
Midsommar (2019)
Textbook cult movie
This was one of the first films that I had ever seen with Florence and I can honestly say that this woman has SUCH a great future ahead. All of her movies are impeccable, but Midsommar shows how much emotion she can portray without saying a word.
Ingrid Goes West (2017)
Leaves a lot to question
Not completely sure what the point of the movie was if I'm being honest. It ended with a ton of loose ties and while most movies may have that working for them, this one surely does not.
Black Widow (2021)
Great ending and set up
A beautiful farewell to Natasha and a great entrance for Yelena. Wonderful fight scenes and amazing female empowerment. Truthfully, I would say this is one of my top Marvel solo films.
