Fifty Dead Men Walking (2008)
Brilliant Movie
Fifty Dead Men Walking is a big and wonderful movie about a bunch of Irish people who are being terrorized by the Brits. They decide to fight fire with fire for their freedom. On the one hand you have the IRA blowing people up with bombs and torturing people ala Reservoir Dogs, but on the other hand you have the invading British force in riot gear randomly abusing any Irish Catholic who jay walks or looks cross-eyed, ala Abu Ghraib. This isn't Braveheart; it's more like Spy Game or dare I say the actual invasion of Iraq. There is no innocent side in this gritty story, any well-defined good or evil, just the truth about a war. However, this film goes beyond The Crying Game or In The Name Of The Father to present something that is more in the tradition of great gangster films such as The Departed (aka, Infernal Affair) or Blow or Donnie Brasco or even Good Fellas, or great cable dramas such as Brotherhood; it is as cinematic as Scarface or The Good Shepard, with elements from the older classics such as Seven Ups or French Connection spicing it up. This epic masterpiece is full of subtleties, such as when the guy looks under the van for explosives before entering or how the conversation about pregnancy is done completely under the covers. Ben Kingsley is in rare form. We just have to wonder why works of art such as this don't show up in our neighborhood theaters in place of the trash we are spoon-fed. What an absolutely wonderful movie. The direction reminds us of the best works of Clint Eastwood crossed with the frantic energy of The Bourne Identity. I realize the title of this movie was taken from the book, but it sounds like a zombie parody of Dead Man Walking, which is why I nearly skipped this flick. I'm glad I gave it a chance. May I recommend the titles Undercover or Covert or -- The Dirty Work -- or some other catchy name like that instead? I mean, they put too much work into this classic to lose their American audience simply because of its crappy title. Also, some subtitles to help with the thick accents would work to everyone's advantage. Words just can't describe how great this movie is: see it.
Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert (2008)
i love 3d movies better than spy kids 3d
When they first announced that the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert would be turned into a 3D movie I was thrilled, especially since I had gone to the actual concert and loved it. Despite negative reviews, I really enjoyed it. Though of course it wasn't nearly as good as the live concert, it was great. The behinds the scenes extras were a lot of fun, plus the concert songs gave you a great feel of what the concert actually was like. My only complaints would be that though it was Miley Cyrus's movie, I would have loved to see the Jonas Brothers featured more, and a bit more behind the scenes footage would have been nice. Overall though, I thought this movie was really good! If you didn't get the chance to see the concert live, I would definitely recommend this. You will get a great feel of how fun the concert was, but you won't have to pay nearly as much! excalty i wouldn't not mine at all it cost pretty much go see hannah montana or miley cyrus and jonas brothers they are in 3d honest man iam pretty excited right now is still on.
24 (2001)
"24" (2001)
This show is genius. I have been watching it since it's first season in 2001. Ever since, I have been anticipating one season after another. Not every season has been completely up to scratch, but I think that the seasons preceding them have earned our trust in the makers to bring it back to its best. For example, the latest season, season 6, was, in my opinion, not as good as the others. But as I said, the producers have earned my trust as a viewer, to believe in them to bring back the old 24.
The acting is fantastic, and incredibly real. The characters are very much personable, and I feel I can relate to most, if not all, of the story lines. Each season is explosive and full of suspense and action. I remain faithful to 24, to bring us our fix of action, violence and suspense, and I personally cannot wait for the 24 movie.
I would recommend this show to pretty much anyone. My sister watches it, my dad does, and most of my friends watch it. It's not your typical action thriller show, because it contains real life stories. For example, Kim Bauers story in season 1. Most people can relate to at least one of the characters in one way or another, and it is by no means difficult to understand. It is not pretentious either, which is what I would call many other action films or TV shows. It is for everybody. Obviously violence and a little bit of language may get in the way for some younger or easily offended viewers, but I have yet to meet someone who has not been hooked on this show from the very first episode they watch. A strong, and easy 10 out of 10.
Transformers (2007)
Transformers (2007)
In the film, the name "Autobot" stands for "Autonomous Robotic Lifeform." In the series the Autobots were so called because their alternate modes were mostly trucks, vans, cars and other auto vehicles Crew or equipment visible: When Sam is running away from his car on the girl's bike and hits the broken sidewalk you can clearly see his double is the one that actually falls over the front of the bike Optimus Prime: Before time began, there was... the cube.
