The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
If feels forced.
If you take this film in a vacume and forget about the 3 others, its an ok film. Its not terrible but not breath taking. My biggest problem with this film is it wasnt needed and, for me, adds nothing to the Trilogy. It feels like an after thought or "something to do" for everyone involved.
Flesh and Bone (1993)
Slow but worth watching
To be honest, I had never heard of this film until I came across it on- line. The blurb sounded OK so I thought why not, it is slow and I could sort of see where it was going but having said that, the acting is good from all the main leads. A young Gwyneth Paltrow plays a brilliant misguided young woman who certainly has a murky past. I have never been a big Meg Ryan fan but this is probably the best performance I have seen from her, too bad it happened 20 years ago.
The story is, as I've already said, quite easy to predict. The hole thing revolves around a traumatic incident which is witnessed by a young boy. Dennis Quaid plays the grown up version of that young boy and does it convincingly with an understated performance.
I've given this film a 7/10 overall. I'd give the acting 10/10 and also the script 10/10. The characters are believable and the acting is quite naturalistic. The reason I give the film overall a 7 is the predictability.
The Fourth Kind (2009)
pleasantly surprised
##POSSIBLE SPOILERS##
Unlike most of reviewers on here, I hadn't seen many reviews on The Fourth Kind before seeing it. I don't usually go for the "based on true stories" films because they usually disappoint. I thought the use of real footage was well done and creative. Most of the truly affective moments in film are actually the real footage, the way that the film makers match the surroundings of the real interviews and the re-created interviews is very well done and very convincing. Overall I think its a good film and worth watching. The acting is good from all the actors including the young kids. Sometimes younger actors aren't as believable but in this film they really support the rest of the cast, and play a major role. The Fourth Kind is a good film with truly disturbing moments and a tense atmosphere for the majority of the film. In two words, worth watching.
Revolver (2005)
Strange and yet enjoyable
Yes is it strange and it doesn't make much sense at first but I still enjoyed watching it.
This is one of those films where the order things happen in the film isn't the order they happen to the characters, if you know what I mean. The story jumps around a bit and you would be forgiven for thinking that there isn't one. It needs more then one watch to be truly affective and you need to watch it like a murder mystery, taking in every detail you can. The first time you watch it, watch it for what it is, don't try to make sense of it on the first pass because you'll only confuse yourself and miss important details(and yes there are a few).
The bad thing about this film is the message (the reason it was made) is not original
