Man of Steel (2013)
I regret not seeing this in theatres
The dialogue in the first half of the movie is extremely important. Kryptonians played god by genetically choosing what someone would be before they grew up, would that person be a soldier or a scientist and in the process their entire race lost the ability to reproduce naturally. Clark's biological parents believed in free will people should have a choice in what they want to become and if they want to be a good or a bad person. So when Krypton was doomed they send him to Earth and let him choose what he should and should not do. This is seen many times Clark chooses to use his powers to safe the kids on the school bus, next he chose to defend earth despite being bullied as a kid. He realized that not all humans were bad people by looking at Lois lane not revealing his secret to the world and his father giving up his life in a tornado to hide Clark's secret. In the future people will look back and see how good this movie really was. Ashamed it was review bombed by rotten tomatoes.
The Hollow Child (2017)
Saw it on CBC Gem
I really liked Sam's character development for a movie that is only 90 minutes it was done well. We learn she used to have a sister named Grace and that Grace died when Sam's biological mother abandoned them. The adoptive mother saw good in Sam and wanted to believe in her and she ended up being correct Sam ended up gibing her life to safe her sister Olivia. I would have preferred a happy ending but an ending where evil wins is ok as well.
