Exaggerated?
14 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Many people will criticize Martha because of her obsessed behaviors. It's true she needs a relationship. But In fact it's the trigger Donny's approach to her to get things gone crazy.

I believe life always has two perspectives, one is a visible one and the other one is beyond earthly knowledge.

In Muslim book Quran ( like the other God's book's) gave hints about those unearthly messages. In Surah As-Saff it says " O you who believe! Why do you say things you won't do? Saying things you do not do is a matter of great wrath in the sight of Allah."

I think Donny's situation can be explained by the anger of God, as he initiated a hope for Martha which he never pursued. He planted seeds of empty promises and then those seeds return to him as a punishment!!!

This is a new generation movie
23 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
My appreciation to the producers to support this movie. 10 years later, critics will recognize this film one of its first and finest example. Movies often told stories of situations. This new type of movie tells about stories, but it's about feelings, moments, experiences with our family and friends. Don't expect a regular movie flow. There are bits and pieces that complete the a big puzzle

I think it can be done with few actors. Joaquin is the best. Love the camera angles, storytelling is very smart.

Producers knew it's not for common movie lovers, but they are checking the potential of high level movie goers!

A Murakami look to Chekhov's famous play
30 January 2022
Uncle Vanya is a play by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. It was first published in 1898. It's about retrospective look of a family. Ambitions, expectations, commitments, love. Early 1900 is not an easy period, but we have different way of difficulties today. Challenges in human relationships remain the same. Murakami finds similarities between 100 years ago of Russia and today's Japan, and asking questions and sharing his thoughts about most burning topics of life. Brilliant.

A question of lifetime
15 November 2021
This is not a movie. This is a visual philosophical art. Mr. Allen perhaps one of the best philosopher of our time. It's not he invented something, but his perspective is so clean which in fact everyone's familiar with. What is the purpose of life? In his 20's men want to be rich. In 30's men want a lovely lady and reasonable job. In 50's we question the meaning of life. We have money, a wife, kids, house, car. Is this all about? Are we happy? Something missing. Another woman, a different job that we really love, going to churches/ mosques? Great conversations, great acting, great everything. You feel like you have all the similar conversations. Thank God, Mr. Allen is still producing.

Time is compassionate
14 November 2021
It's a great story probably millions survived in different ways around the globe. Western culture is built on materialism. Ownership and selfishness. When God takes some of your valuables, people crash to the wall and fall apart. Yes only medicine is God and time. Great acting. Probably one of the most underrated movie of the year.
