Suspect (2022)
Heart wrenching drama
Wow! I'm left almost breathless after watching this, it's such an interesting format that I haven't seen on TV before. On paper it could've been a drag but the performances and the way it's filmed make it the most claustrophibically thrilling experience of a TV show. If you're unsure after the first few episodes do stick with it because once you get used to the format it's brilliant.
Hotel Portofino (2022)
Stunning backdrop for a period drama
Watching this is literally like going on holiday! And it's so much fun to watch too, with all the characters hiding something so there's enough intrigue to keep you hooked but it's not so dark that it's a chore to watch. I already can't wait for season 2!
I May Destroy You (2020)
Game changer
The way this portrays women, race, London, consent, periods, sex, men, homophobia, rape, friendship, trust, good and bad, night life, relationships, power, money, independence, family, fame, social media, environmentalism, bullying and just modern British life in every which way is something I have never seen before on screen. I applaud Michaela Cole and think she's going to become as big, if not bigger, than Phoebe Waller Bridge (she also did the 'break the fourth wall' thing first).
Before We Die (2021)
Absolutely enthralling
I've been watching this with my family and all of us have been hooked from the start. There were so many twists and turns that we didn't see coming so I'd highly recommend watching this with other people. The cast were great, especially Kazia Pelka as the terrifying matriarch Dubravka and of course Lesley Sharp who's always wonderful. The only thing I would say is... I hope there's a second season!
