Tree for Two (1952)
Unique and Entertaining
While I can't say this is my favorite, (Spike the bulldog and Chester the terrier aren't really my favorite), this has a great unique flare to it. I like the way events are played out, Not too fast, not too slow, Just for the comedy alone. Sylvester doesn't have a lot to do in this short, which I feel is a little bit of a miss, but that's the only gripe I have. (Strange title I know.) Other than that though, I actually really like this short, along with Dr. Jekyl's hyde, a similar short.
8.8/10.
Rabbit's Feat (1960)
Surprisingly a great later installment
I really was pleasantly surprised by this short, The animation isn't the most extravagant thing ever but the color is awesome, having its own unique flare to it. The jokes, Oh god the jokes, are simply hilarious! "Daddy, You came home from Peru! Mmmmmwah" "How do you do I am a vegetarian my name is mud". They can entertain just about anyone. For some reason I feel like the animations and storyboard artists had a lot of fun with Bugs's ears in this short, they play on them a lot. Overall, This is a great short that I can just about rewatch anytime, with still liking the first one of the 5 part wile coyote and Bugs shorts the best.
10/10!!
Tweet Dreams (1959)
Join the 6/10 bandwagon.
Honestly a lot of people could fault this cartoon a lot for being a package-feature and somewhat lazy, and I completely understand that. But this cartoon does it so much better than even some bugs bunny cartoons. The plot seems more cohesive and progressive, and you feel like your laughing and watching a story unfold before your eyes. This is more of a sylvester only cartoon more than anything, and I like seeing the perspective of sylvester with more text than usual. The parts I think do work is the sylvester Jr clip, (however that just makes me want a sylvester jr and tweety cartoon), It works and doesn't go on for two much. The part that doesn't work is the transition from the Vet to "I decided to go strolling in the circus" because that feels quite lazy to me, and maybe the part from sandy claws goes along for a little too long as well.
However I can't undeniably hate it, and it's definitely not among the worst of any of the looney tunes, and feels like an earned Package feature.
Fowl Weather (1953)
Great and Underrated
I really like this cartoon. I remember watching it on television a long time ago and I've always remembered it since. I finally found it again, and I have to say its probably in my top 5 tweety and sylvester cartoons. I just can't really fault this cartoon in any way. It's not just nostalgia either, it's quite good from an older perspective. The gags especially are fast, quick witted, and have very good comedic timing, some of Frelengs best to be honest. Everything is sped up so fast that it feels like quintessential looney tunes.
Not quite sure why this hasn't been released on Dvds very much, Its very strong.
Underrated.

Lovelorn Leghorn (1951)
MIxed feelings.
First of all, I would like to say the animation is quite superb, with the help of rod scribner it looks fantastic. And The characters I quite enjoy, Miss prissy is a little two dimensional, but she doesn't appear very often in shorts anyway. I really..... Um.... Yeah that's enough good stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the plot, Of course this was 1951 so many decisions in the writing are definitely dated to todays society. But even without that this isn't really a funny cartoon for me. The best part of course has to be the gag with the football and watermelon, I almost chuckled there. But it's just more Disney-Esque than anything else so I can't enjoy it outrageously, at all.
Yeah, not a strong one, I haven't seen an Egg scramble so maybe that's better.

Acrobatty Bunny (1946)
A great first Effort By mckimson.
This (while being a Quite formulaic bugs cartoon) is highly enjoyable, and almost a pairing with Mckimsons Similar cartoon, big top bunny. Between the two I think the latter is more of a favorite, but that does not mean this cartoon shows some guts. I love the beginning, with bugs bunny's house, its comedic, riveting, and a great start to a cartoon. Like I said earlier it is fairly substandard, but the Lion foe is great for a bugs bunny cartoon and the pacing is pretty excellent. Highlight jokes is when bugs comes out as a clown, and ends up in the Lions stomach.
Perfect start to Mckimson bugs bunny cartoons, and about what'd you expect.
8.8/10.
Knights Must Fall (1949)
Perfectly serviceable cartoon, just not my favorite.
I really enjoy this one, the animation is perfect, beautiful, and awesome. The gags in this one......I dunno, is it just me or does it seem way too similar to Baseball bugs in the way its set up? I mean I know Friz liked to reuse things a lot, so It can't be any coincidence. Just my two sense. However I absolutely love the characters in this one, this is your perfect madcap bugs bunny adventure, and I also can't really fault any of the storywriters on this one either, they're quite talented!
And of course, despite my criticisms, this is still a largely favorable cartoon, from start to finish.
8.3/10.
Birds of a Father (1961)
Quite enjoyable!
The Plot may seem fairly simple and typical of Sylvester Jr and Sylvester cartoons, but this one does that better than others. I can really feel the energy that was put into this cartoon, and of course, the voice acting is superb. A cartoon such as Cat's paw from two years earlier is much worse than this cartoon, and I can't really find anything too wrong with this cartoon. The gags are Hilarious, and the animation isn't that bad actually, in fact it could have passed as a mid-fifties cartoon if it could.
Final thoughts: Very nice!
Something about the Sylvester Jr cartoons make me smile, and I can thoroughly enjoy most of them.
9/10.
I Gopher You (1954)
Can't give a too-high appraisal, because it has its faults.
The plot for this cartoon is quite simple. (They're basically just trying to get vegetables). While the Goofy gophers are praised by many, I unfortunately just can't get into them. I feel they work best when against an Opposing force, Elmer Fudd and the dog are some great examples. But when they're just getting mishaps while romping around in a freeze-dried vegetable factory its not quite engaging for the older crowd. Don't get me wrong, this cartoon is still well directed, and The Animation is quite good, but they just don't work well when there alone without a force, it just feels very Disney esque and the Stakes are especially low. The ending however (while predictable) Is well crafted, and I can't necessarily hate this cartoon at all, especially when there are so many other good Goofy gopher cartoons out there, and Im sure the merits of this cartoon outweigh the Disappointments, and there are probably fans of this cartoon out there, but I (personally) just respectively can't get into it.
Now, Hare This (1958)
Not remarkable in any way, but I can't say I dislike it.
Bugs's Character is well loved here, and I can't say I dislike the Big bad wolf and his son either, They are fine characters but not (as I said) Notable in any way. He's amusing with bugs and while the formula does seem a little stressed in this cartoon, It's not horrible and works fine for what it his. Of course the largest drawback of the cartoon is its Quite simple animation. This was a later cartoon in the Time of bugs bunny, so understandably the animation is not as pleasant as it was before. But to be honest, If I picture myself watching this when I was younger I would be doing two things. Laughing, and Not noticing the simplistic animation. Since I watched a lot of television animation by Hanna Barbara when I was younger, the animation probably wasn't noticeable or a drawback for me.
So for the cartoon it is, I can't necessarily hate it, while It is a little more obscure than some other Bugs cartoons.
7.6 out of 10.
Bunker Hill Bunny (1950)
Great entertainment value.
And that's all this cartoon has really got for it. It's highly amusing, Probably some of Sam and Bugs's Best jokes take place in this cartoon, but it's just a little plain and simple with that discarded, and to be honest Is really just bugs and sam fighting over and over again. Maybe I should have watched this in History class!!
There's really not much to expand on this cartoon, just watch the Cartoon for yourself if you haven't seen it.
Big House Bunny (1950)
Quite hilarious!
Sam Schultz is not a well-known persona of Sam but he's really hilarious in this cartoon. In fact, this cartoon is my 4th favorite Yosemite sam short, Despite not giving it a perfect score. Some of the jokes don't nail as well, then others, but that's just a small majority of the cartoon so it's not much of a loss. I absolutely love the setting of a Prison for a Looney tunes short, We only got this with bugs bunny another time, and that cartoon was Brilliant as well. Is the animation stunning? No, but this is still an essential viewing for any Looney tunes fan, Young and old. I can't quite place my finger on why I love this cartoon so much, I don't even remember seeing on TV that much when I was younger, But it's still awesome.
9.2/10.
Mutiny on the Bunny (1950)
Kid nostalgia.
This must have been rewatched so much as a kid, because I absolutely LOVED this carton. And I still do. Its probably one of the most underrated Yosemite sam cartoons of all time. I always loved bugs bunny since a young age, and I remember I used to pretend that I was playing the Hero, Bugs, and My young relative was Playing Shanghai Sam. Of course I don't love this cartoon to that extent nowadays, but It's still A great and Hilarious cartoon. The Animation Is Excellent (at least in my opinion) and Surprisingly the jokes aren't too funny in this one, but Still occasionally give you a few chuckles, Kids will absolutely love this cartoon.
10/10
Surprisingly this isn't even in my top 3 favorite Yosemite sam cartoons, but I still give it a 10/10.
High Diving Hare (1949)
Pretty well made and Funny.
This cartoon is really fun from start to finish, Bugs bunny has a great sam team up in front of him. Once the cartoon plot gets going, and Yosemite sam is introduced, Sam has to volunteer for high diving because someone is sick out. Welp, Chaos endures, and I'm happy to say that this cartoon has only one joke running through it, and it works brilliantly. I definitely think we need a sequel to this cartoon. What's also interesting to note is that this Cartoon is somewhat reminiscent of Stage door cartoon, another Great Friz Freleng work.
Final score 9/10.
Bugs Bunny Rides Again (1948)
A lesser Sequal to Hare Trigger.
A lot of people rate this cartoon higher than I am, but the fact that I love Hare trigger so much brings the rating of this short down. The Scenery and Animation is super great, but the excessive use of guns at the beginning almost makes this not suitable for young children. Same for the Final part when he Walks into a "striptease car". Hare trigger is just much more enjoyable. But the Jokes in this cartoon are delightful, when they dance its just Awesome, the "I dare you to cross this line" Gag is also so awesome, and so on and so on.
Overall, while this cartoon largely is made up of winner gags, I just can't appreciate it as much as I can other cartoons, and definitely isn't suitable for young children, which is kinda sad.
7.8/10.
Buccaneer Bunny (1948)
The Best Yosemite sam Pirate adventure.
The Comedy here is top-notch for starters, I was laughing my eyes out at first watch when I was a kid. One of the best Bugs bunny Disguises is present here, and some of the best visual comedy in a sam cartoon. It's not perfect, but will entertain the viewer massively. Pirates of the Caribbean be Damned! The Explosive comedy is some of the most over the top in a Looney tunes short, and is delightful to watch when those moments to take a moment to shine.
9/10.
Along Came Daffy (1947)
Somewhat depressing, but a marvelous Daffy Short.
Daffy is one of my favorite Cartoon Characters of all time, and It's no surprise that this cartoon is up there with some of the Daffy Greats, and Has one of the coziest atmospheres in all of Looney tunes shorts. A Funny cartoon, but the animation is also a shining point of this. The Shading, Lighting, and background shots and angles are Quite superb, and definitely is something I could watch over and over again.
9/10.
Hare Trigger (1945)
The most Hilarious Yosemite sam short.
This 10/10 scoring for the first Yosemite sam short I am reviewing is so deserving, its so funny. You'll be laughing again, and again, and again, and I can pretty much know this cartoon by heart. I love it so much. The Animation is so great, and much of the shots look like they're from 40 years later, and the comedy is some of the best of Friz Freleng. Need I say more? This cartoon will be gushed by everyone, and I'm so glad that this is the start to a great character by Friz, and this is the one of the best in the series.
10/10.
The Yolks on You (1980)
Well, its not a great cartoon.....
Yeah, This isn't a very good cartoon. While the Pairing of Sylvester and Daffy together might appeal to some people, it just doesn't work for me. I mean... He's a duck, Who eats lots of water plants and small aquatic animals, scrounging through dumpsters with a cat and planning to eat other things that don't make sense, the cartoon would have worked if they left out Daffy (sadly) and Kept Sylvester. Also Miss Prissy is a bit of an annoying character, and foghorn leghorn should have done more, and the Animation looks like it was theorized by a 7 year-old, and yeah..... its not a great cartoon. Just Bland all over.
3/10.
What Makes Daffy Duck (1948)
The reason why we Love Daffy Duck.
Daffy as a Character is one of my favorites of All time, and I like to call this, The Great piggy bank robbery, and Duck amuck as some of the Daffy Duck classics that all Fans of the Little black Rascal need to watch. This is simply put- An amazing cartoon. Elmer is actually smarter than usual, which is somewhat refreshing, and The Fox character (while not that important and actually similar to other fox characters in looney tunes) Is a welcome addition. The Comedy is fast-paced, Self-aware, Witty, and gorgeous to look at, with some of the best gags include daffy Tricking the both into "getting the nice tender duck" with him creating a rivalry between the two. Great cartoon, Perfect score, and Loveable animation.
PERFECTION
10/10.
Two Gophers from Texas (1948)
Mac and Tosh do it again.
This is a Highly amusing cartoon from start to finish, Not one part didn't leave me laughing. The gagwork is your typical looney tunes fare, but Works so well with the Goofy gophers, some of the most underrated characters in my opinion. Surprisingly, it was actually the dog that entertained me the most in this cartoon, its kinda unfortunate after a ham in a role they didn't use him again. He's Funny. Also, the animation is quite good, just wrapping up me reviewing every Arthur Davis directed cartoon, and all I can say is, he's Pretty underrated!
8.5/10
The only reason why I'm giving this a lower score than the Goofy Gophers (1947) is the animation isn't as eye-catching as before, and I like Mac and Tosh's Gray coats better. That's okay though, because this is still a great cartoon, hands down.
The Stupor Salesman (1948)
Daffy's best Salesman Caper
This is a very Nice cartoon, even if the beginning is a little Slow, I appreciate the context for who the opposing force is in this phenomenal Daffy Short. Once Daffy comes into play for the story, The comedy didn't leave me a second from laughing. Its a very funny cartoon, and While the Salesman Daffy ones can get
a little familiar from time to time, this is the funniest and deserves its spot.
Bit of a short review, but that's okay.
9.4/10.
Riff Raffy Daffy (1948)
A Daffy and Porky Classic.
The setting and original score are definitely the highlights in this cartoon. The comedy is astoundingly hilarious, and will enormously entertain the likes of all audiences. Porky is a police officer a couple other times in the classic shorts, but this is the funniest one with his role. Daffy isn't forgotten either, while delivering his traditional (but borderline hilarious) comedy. The Animation is also quite good. Setting and Lighting are cozy as always, and the Original score (Like I said) is so awesome, I wish I had the whole thing on Apple Music.
10/10, NO PROBLEMS.
The Rattled Rooster (1948)
Just watching someone getting abused over and over again. Fun!
I enjoyed it. The gags and animation are perfect, not a single problem. I'm just not giving this as much of a high score as other cartoons, purely for the dislike of that Worm. Glad he didn't appear in anything else. It's just an awesome pile of Craziness, and that's all it needs to be. It will entertain massively. This cartoon still could have been a bland foghorn leghorn cartoon with pleasant animation, but It wasn't the characters are much different.
8.5/10.
Porky Chops (1949)
Squirrel Steals the show.
Don't get me wrong, this cartoon is good, but Not that good. The Squirrel is highly amusing, and doesn't need any improvement, but porky on the other hand..... Who is he? This just isn't porky, if it was Elmer it would make so much more sense, or even Yosemite Sam in a different Profession, but porky just doesn't work. The Animation is pretty nice though, with nice fluid movements, and Storybeats that are fast-paced and leave you on the edge of your seat at all times.
The problem is, you don't care for porky in this cartoon, quite the opposite when he's with Daffy Duck. He's a bland piece of tofu, In A pig form! The jokes and the squirrel redeem it though, and all in all, kids will find it enormous fun.
7/10.
