Fear the Walking Dead: The Beginning (2021)
50% Good 50% Bad
This finale has some really cool moments, but what brings it down is the 5 segment structure. Some of the segments are rushed, convenient and a last minute attempt at giving some key characters character development. The best segment was the one featuring Colman Domingo, weakest was the one featuring Austin Amelio & Christine Evangelista.
Overall, the episode is a 5/10. It's not the best finale of Fear and it's nowhere near the top 10 episodes of the series. Just because it's entertaining doesn't mean it's good writing.
And now, the season 6 bots are going to downvote me. Go ahead.
Fear the Walking Dead: Sleigh Ride (2017)
The Best Episode Of Television
Yes, Sleigh Ride is a beautiful conclusion to the best season in Walking Dead history. This season was real, gritty and raw. It was a linear story told in such an effective way, filled with elements of symbolism.
10/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: Things Bad Begun (2017)
"Things Bad Begun" Is An Impressive Build Up
This episode is a phenomenal build up to the season 3 finale that was by far the best episode of the series. We see how exhausted our characters are with all the hardships that comes during the zombie apocalypse.
9/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: El Matadero (2017)
A Heart Breaking Incredible Episode
In this episode, we see two storylines clash together in such a beautiful and well written way. Ruben Blades rocks and his performance this episode is incredible.
9/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: Brother's Keeper (2017)
"Brother's Keeper" Is A Brilliant Hour Of Television
The 3rd season of Fear The Walking Dead continues to get better and better, it's rather impressive how good this season is.
We see how the actions of a certain character in this episode can lead to total destruction and cause a spin on the rest of the season.
10/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: La Serpiente (2017)
"La Serpiente" Is A Character Driven Masterpiece
It's marvelous how a 3 character led episode managed to be this compelling. This episode continues the world building that was presented in the episode prior and well, the world building reaches new heights and you can see how it all ties together.
Fear the Walking Dead: The Diviner (2017)
Colman Domingo Shines In "The Diviner"
The world building reaches a boiling point in this really eventful episode, and the dialogue is even more impressive. It's crazy how much chemistry Kim Dickens & Colman Domingo have, they are by far the best actors on the show. But honestly, everyone is so talented.
Fear the Walking Dead: Minotaur (2017)
"Minotaur" Is A Realistic Take On Gun Control
It's crazy how much this season reminds me of the current state of America. And I'm even more impressed that this show is managing to include the perspectives of BOTH sides of the spectrum in a way that does not virtual signal either.
It's scary how realistic Erickson's Fear is.
Awesome midseason premiere.
Fear the Walking Dead: Children of Wrath (2017)
Kim Dickens Shines In "Children Of Wrath"
This is the episode we've been waiting for - the episode where we finally see Madison Clark becoming the lead she has always had the potential to be. This first half of 3A is PHENOMENAL. There's literally no complaints. Everything is perfect. The character development has been building up to this point and we finally see the potential of the Clarks and how intelligent this family really is.
Fear the Walking Dead: The Unveiling (2017)
"The Unveiling" Builds Up The Midseason Finale Perfectly
This episode has it all: the action, the motives, the decisions, the LORE.
It's a very wonderful build up to Episode 8.
Fear the Walking Dead: Red Dirt (2017)
"Red Dirt" Is Phenomenal.
Our characters' skills are put to the test during this episode when they are tasked with keeping the peace, especially after the events of the episode prior. We see them slowly climb up the ranks at the Ranch and it's honestly so damn well written. It's crazy how much development they are undergoing only 6 episodes into the season.
Fear the Walking Dead: Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame (2017)
A Well-Written Horror Themed Episode
This episode plays with fire, and plays with water. In the opening scenes, we see fire. In the final scenes, water. I see a major contrast between the two. Anyways, this episode presents the next antagonists and well.. they are presented in such a creepy way. We also see major development from the Clarks, particularly the siblings.
Awesome 5th episode!
Fear the Walking Dead: 100 (2017)
A Ruben Blades Led Masterpiece
This is by far in the top 3 best episodes of television. Yes, IT IS THAT GOOD.
Its crazy how 99% of this episode is spoken entirely in Spanish. You rarely get that in American television but Fear managed to do it.
10/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: TEOTWAWKI (2017)
Enormous World Building In "TEOTWAWKI"
During this awesome episode, we dive into The Otto's and their past in a very intriguing way as the mysteries slowly unravel. You have to really pay attention to the dialogue as it gives you more hints about their past.
The world building in this show is insane, you can notice that the society in Mexico is still intact even 2-3 months into the apocalypse.
Fear the Walking Dead: The New Frontier (2017)
A Beautifully Shot Aftermath
Fear decides to spin up the narrative in "A New Frontier" which gives some characters that have rarely had development in the past more character depth. The slow burn works perfectly in this aftermath of an episode and it enables you to really dive into the mindset of Kim Dickens' Madison Clark and her thought process.
Fear the Walking Dead: Eye of the Beholder (2017)
The Best Season Premiere
An action packed ensemble-led episode gives this episode the title of best premiere in Fear history.
It's crazy how much this show changed since Season 1 to now, and then in the future to the terrible Andrew & Ian era.
10/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: North (2016)
"North" Is A Beautiful Finale
It's no surprise that we are leading into the absolute best season of the Walking Dead Universe. And this episode is the bridge that crosses over to that path, and it does a phenomenally good job at it.
The coincidences of someone's actions hurt our group quite a lot and enable them to make some rash decisions.
The character development was outstanding and you can really see these people turn into survivors now.
Fear the Walking Dead: Wrath (2016)
"Wrath" Is Fear At It's Best
Wrath did another example of how good this show can get during its concluding storylines, not only did this episode showcase a character at his breaking point after a heartbreaking reveal. It is an example of how a sheep who goes out of his way to avoid violence can become the lion when angered.
Fear the Walking Dead: Date of Death (2016)
The Father-Son Conflict In "Date Of Death"
Chris adapts to the new world, but in a very wrong way. You can sense a peer pressure-type of situation occurring during this episode and in 210 regarding Chris & his new friends.
It's a heart wrenching masterpiece.
Fear the Walking Dead: Pillar of Salt (2016)
Shining A Light On Madison's Weaknesses In "Pillars Of Salt"
Pillar Of Salt showcases how a mother feels and it's a VERY realistic example. Realism is what made these first three seasons shine, and you can see the realism level up even further during this episode.
Fear the Walking Dead: Sicut Cervus (2016)
"Sicut Cervis" Is A Phenomenal Slow Burn
This episode is an example of what Erickson's Fear does best, it slow burns its way into the next storyline but (unlike TWD) - the plot progresses in different directions despite it being slowburn.
10/10.
Fear the Walking Dead: Captive (2016)
"Captive" Is An Ensemble Episode
Everyone's skills and minds are put to the test in this episode, and it's wonderful seeing this group of people work together.
