Tomorrow X Together: Our Lost Summer (2023)
Cute U.S. Tour Diary; Not Much Else
I know "Our Lost Summer" was promoted this way, but I thought at least there would be more of a deep-dive into the artists' lives during the tour, but there wasn't much emotion or biography; it was mostly just following them around in the U. S. for 1 hour and 22 minutes. I love all of TXT and think their passion is great, but I would have preferred more of how the members were feeling. There weren't enough sit down interviews, and of the sit down interviews, they were clearly heavily edited. I did not expect much from this, but Lollapalooza was shown with a big weight throughout the promotion, so I assumed it would have at least half an hour of screen time. I was wrong.
Other than there not being much of a reason to call it a documentary, I love the reason why they called the doc "Our Lost Summer". It's a play on two of their songs "Our Summer" and "We Lost the Summer" as well as paying homage to the MOAs after TXT lost so much time with them during the pandemic. I think the thought of the documentary was cute, and it definitely had many lovely, laughable and heartfelt moments.
I wish the boys good luck on their second round of Lollapalooza this year as headliners. May you prosper through all your hardships.
Fighting!
Lightyear (2022)
Boring!
The characters (other than buzz) were so one dimensional and boring! Also there wasn't noticeable conflict? It wasn't a spectacle and I didn't care for any of the characters. Here are the main characters personalities: sox is a robot and makes robot sounds; (I don't even remember the human characters names that how forgettable they are) black girl was the grand daughter, the guy like a pen and was useless, the old lady was on parole? That's if. Weirdly though, it was better than I thought and my rating isn't a good rating.
Don't watch this movie. It doesn't even feel like a Pixar movie. Also they set up the "to infinity and beyond" so poorly I didn't care when him and the granddaughter did the thing. And I didn't tear up once? So weird for a Pixar movie.
Stranger Things: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab (2022)
This was better but still not great
Not amazing, but the twist of the creepy guy at Hawkins Lab being the #001, as well as being the kid of the family who was killed by Vecna was cool; but him being Vecna was less cool. Also, there are major plot holes? Why does everyone at Hawkins Lab suddenly have the same powers but #008 is able to manipulate what people can perceive as real/fake? Also why wouldn't she come back and help? Was she just written out of the show after season 2? This show is complete and utter trash now. It's simply just a cash cow for Netflix because people don't want Netflix anymore and this is one of its biggest originals.
Truthfully, Stranger Things should've been a limited series.
Stranger Things: Chapter Five: The Nina Project (2022)
by far the worst stranger things episode i've ever seen
So boring and pointless, also i don't care about hopper and the russians? Show me some more character development for will and his sexuality! Also shouldn't mike be more worried about el?
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
horrible
This episode was so poorly written and i couldn't care less about max dying. Why the hell would music save her? I've finished watching all seven episodes and i still don't understand the significance of playing music and vecna refraining from crunching her bones? Also sadie sink's acting is subpar and banal.
Turning Red (2022)
Good!
Perfect movie for kids who are going through the same problems as Mei Mei, but overall it's a mediocre storyline with over exaggerated characters. The ads did not do the movie justice.
Kaubôi bibappu: Cowboy Bebop (1998)
Good Concept, Poorly Executed
It seemed to start off slow so I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but it just never hooked me. It was bland the whole time, showing a lot of the three of them just sitting around, and each episode was bland in its own way. Sometimes I like shows that don't have episodes that are connected, but in this show's case it was executed poorly and didn't land for me.
I'd say this show is overrated because of the nostalgia it gives some, and the strides it made for other animes alike. However, this show has a rating of an unstable four.
Don't Look Under the Bed (1999)
Pretty Good for a Children's Movie
If I was a child when I watched this (buy the time I was old enough to watch Disney Channel they weren't playing this anymore because it was replaced with later content) I'm sure I would've been really scared of this movie and would add this to my halloween movie collection. However, being an adult, this movie didn't make me flinch once and was quite boring plot wise.
Mind you, it was the 90s so cinematography, especially for a kid's cable channel, is bound to be bad, but the plot wasn't horrible. I just wish it didn't take so long to move on with the story. There were definitely a lot of scenes that weren't needed and could've been shortened or completely scrapped.
In conclusion, one of the better Disney Channel Original Movies.
