Xanadu (1980)
I miss my roller skates....
Ahh, 1980. I was an 11 year old flaming queen in training and after seeing the the preview of this I almost peed myself! Certainly I had no money and nobody in family wanted to see it, but one afternoon I was with my family at the mall and I found a 20 dollar bill in the Parking lot!!so you know I took my whole family to go see it! and I will never live it down... they hated it. At the time I remember it being fantastic ( you should have seen me in my roller skates for two weeks after the film, up and down the street in my neighborhood all day! I'm surprised I wasn't beat up more often)..But after seeing it recently I realize how terrible it really is, you can really tell they wrote the film around the songs, and the acting (especially Michael Beck) is a joke. But I'm not going to lie the music is still pretty good , a great example of cheesy 80's music
Winter of the Witch (1969)
I'm not the only one!
This is so strange, but after many years of thinking this movie was some sort of dream that I kept vaguely remembering I finally realize it was not a dream, the magic pancakes are real! It must have been shown (like all other comments) when I was in Elementary School circa '76-'78 (Cumberland, Lansing Michigan), I have mentioned the few things I remember, the witch, the pancakes, trippy colors,etc..to friends and they all think I'm crazy. I'm so glad I know the title now,,and hope that I can find it! Now there is just one film I have yet to find that I saw around the same time,( an Anti-drug film called Dead is Dead, or something similar) and my life will be complete.
