Lucky Three: An Elliott Smith Portrait (1997)
beautiful
This film a beautiful portrait of one of the greatest musicians of the last decade. It's an brief look into his world, with Elliott playing three songs for the camera in a small room. The three performances - 'Between the Bars,' a cover of Big Star's 'Thirteen,' and 'Angeles' - are intercut with footage of his hometown, and of him wandering around it. Lucky Three is a powerful film, and an special look into an artist who, during his brief life, shied away from the spotlight. A must see for all fans of Elliott and the wonderful music he left behind.
Backstreet Boyz (1998)
Funniest Spoof Ever
This is probably the one good thing the Backstreet Boys have been involved in. What is was, was a 5 minute or so spoof of the band made by Ben Stiller. Stiller played the sixth member of the band, who kicked him out, no wait, he kicked them out but they kept the name. He formed a new band called Backstreet Boyz with Andy Dick, who shows off a castrati like high pitched sing voice during the music video sequence for their song, and has a hook for a hand. Fans of Stiller will love this, and copies have been floating around the internet since it's release. Highly recommended that you check it out.
Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993)
Best Show ever
This show is the cream of the crop of late night TV. It is refreshing to see some comedy that isn't rehash, like Letterman and Leno, who have been doing the same gags for years and years. Conan, even without Andy, can amuse and delight for hours on end. Talk shows are usually only good for the comedy, the interviews being boring, but this is never the case on this show. They are always intelligent, and always hilarious. Watch this show, you will not be disappointed.
Amadeus (1984)
A brilliant
Do not miss this film. It is wonderful in every way. F. Murray Abraham is great in his role, and Tom Hulce is hysterical and heart breaking. The supporting cast is also amazing, as usual Jeffrey Jones proves himself an extremely worthy asset and Milan Demjanenko, as Mozart's father, is chilling. One movie that was the right choice for Best Picture!
