Life on Mars (2006)
Amazing.. don't miss this (Then watch the sequel - Ashes to Ashes)
Speechless...
And that is from someone that doesn't really bother watching stuff on TV.
Very good... and continually gets better.. right through to the end of the sequel series...
Amazing well written and acted...
Binged on this many a night...
Watch it... you won't regret it... and it's funny too.
Ashes to Ashes (2008)
One of, if not the best series I have seen
Watch "Life on Mars" first.
For those of you that remember life in the 70s & 80s, this will be even more enjoyable, but I don't think it is necessary that you are in your late 50's (like me, sadly)
As I rule... I don't watch TV... This I couldn't stop watching (Free on Netflix... thank the Lord for Netflix).
I hope there are sequells and we find out what happens to Sam, Alex, Ray, Chris and Shaz... (and Gene of course) make a great Xmas special.
Credit to both the writers and actors... had me binge watching many a night...
Thanks.
Vanilla Sky (2001)
Definitly worth a sequel if you are reading this Tom
I watched this film years ago and didn't really get it... 2nd time around it is like WOW!
The title is serious... make a sequel!
It's 150 years in to the future... and Sophia & David are looking for each other... at least they never forgot each other... and follow the amazing story of how they meet in the future... maybe Sophia had learned how David put himself in the LE program... she became wealthy and lonely.. During the Lucid Dream upgrades, there was a communication upgrade, whereby those in the dream state could transmit messages to the outside world.. David sent a messafe to Sophia asking her to follow him... years later she signed up and asked to be woken if and when David ever chose to leave the program... 150 years later, 2151 they are both a woken, but Sophia is woken a day or 2 later. It is then their story of how they come back together...David is unaware Sophia has followed him and Sophia is desperately trying to find him...
If you make the sequel... I want in ;-)
Great film. Worth watching, twice!
JFK to 9/11: Everything Is a Rich Man's Trick (2014)
If this does not wake you up NOTHING WILL!
When will the SLAVES (you) stand up for themselves and drag the fat cats out of their ivory towers and hang the lot of them (or at least lock them up forever) as they obviously deserve.
3.5 hrs justs fly by..
This should be played every year in all schools around the world.
Bird Box (2018)
Sorry Sandra, not your fault (unless you wrote the script)
Utter garbage... probably won't get a free ticket to see any of her movies any more...
I hope the next movie is better...
The 13th Day (2009)
This film has shone a light for me and opened a door
Before watching this film I classed my self as an agnostic, believe in something but not sure what.
In January 2014, a distant friend of mine from my past asked me if I had heard of the miracle of Fatima, to which I replied that I had not. He encouraged me to "Google" it, which I did. I was instantly surprised by what I found.
I am a person that does not believing something unless it can be verified and proved. I may have an open mind on something until proved or dis-proved. Faith and the bible fell in to that category, I neither believed or dis-believed as there was no proof, just lots written about things thousands of years ago.
The film, portraits very well the events leading up to Oct 13th 1917, coupled with actual photographs. Up to 100,000 witnesses saw the same thing. Believers and none believers reported the same things. People miles away from the event also reported seeing the same (so no mass hypnosis going on).
But it is not just the films story that converted me to a believer. I experienced some things very strange...
When I was recommended to watch the film I discovered that it was available to watch on Youtube. Whilst staying at my friends house I logged my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Note I) on to my friends home internet connection as my mobile signal (Three UK) was too weak to do even the most basic things. When I went to bed late on Sunday evening I decided to watch the film. I logged on to Youtube, found the film and watched it without any buffering problems. Its one of those films that seams like it is just 30 mins. I was spellbound!
Immediately after watching the film I wanted to check some of the other video out that were no doubt about the same topic... however every time I tried to select the video my phone told me there was no internet connection, which was strange because I have just finished watching the film (The 13th Day) without a single problem! This made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! Also, at this very same time, I don't know why, but I checked for a small lump I had had for quite a long time... and guess what? It had vanished. I had it before I watched the film and now it was completely gone!. I went to check and realised that I in fact had NOT logged on to my friends internet router )I have made a mistake earlier)and only had my mobile internet... which I knew was not working well enough.
For me, all of these things have been a wake up call and I now look on the prophesies and the Bible in a different light.
I encourage you to watch the film and "Google" things... the evidence is there. Search "Miracle of Fatima" and select images.
The worrying thing about the film is that we are running out of time to do something about it. Save yourself and everyone else you can.

Seven Pounds (2008)
The best film I have seen in ages..
Very clever, very well put together and well acted. One of those nice films that will go down in history as one of those nice films. This film can stand shoulder to shoulder with The Green Mile, Titanic and Note Book.
It goes at a steady "slow" pace but you will not be disappointed. I wasn't.
Yes, it made me cry, more than once.
It's a film you can watch with teenager children. but not younger I suppose.
It's one of those Saturday night, get cozy with some popcorn, sweets and a big box of tissues.
If you rate this less than a 10 you're probably not human and you should seek medical advice.
Rent, Buy, Enjoy.
Edge of Darkness (2010)
What a load of crap! Mel Gibson could not act his way out of a bag
I didn't read any reviews before watching this pile of ****.
It was so predictable. The audio was way out at times. The acting by almost everyone was crap, and at best was bad.
I forced myself to sit through it all as I thought it surely couldn't be that bad all the way through.... but it was... right to the end.
Thanks for completely wasting 2 hours of my life....
Save yourself the trouble and do not watch this film...... it is utter utter 100% crap.
In fact I can't remember ever seeing Mel Gibson in a convincing role.... he just can't act.... and from what I have seen and heard of him on the internet.... the guy is just a complete, racist, drunk, sexist tosser and does not deserve the good fortune he has...... lets hope he pisses off the scene to make way for someone with talent. I could do better.
The Descent (2005)
The scariest film I've seen in a long time!
Just finished watching this film.... watched in bed with the lights out... not a good idea! Wow this is action from start to the last frame. Not for the faint hearted. 10 out of 10 for me. Scary moments you just can't anticipate...
The plot is good and well acted out (I thought). Would have liked to have seen on the big screen, but maybe I would have been a hospital case... toooooooooo scary.
Surprised I never heard anything about this when it was released... I think the studios let this one down with poor marketing... definitely better than most of the other thrillers I have seen advertised.
Would be interested to know what it took at the box offices etc..
Anyway, better go and clean the mess up now.... watch in the dark!!!!
Raining Stones (1993)
Captures the heart and soul of the community
This film, based on and shot in Langley, Middleton.
Having grown up on Langley, this film is as real as it was.
Jim Allen, a local writer, lived in the heart of this community, so he knew it inside out. (I even had the pleasure of going to school with his daughter Catherine).
Bruce Jones and Ricky Tomlinson set this film a light from the first frame.
Even the local gangsters get a cameo role! You should not be disappointed with this film.
Nothing much has changed in the town, just a few more boarded up houses and demolished houses.
