*the singing and musical numbers were def EXCELLENT, esp by the 4 MAIN characters. All the casts are really attractive, authentic.

*luv, luv, luv miss rita morena. She was def a wonderful surprise, but the 2 MAIN characters should have sang her song.

*the dancing were certainly strong; albeit, too short in length. The gym scene shouldve been a more intense drawn out dance battle.

*the dance sequence in the gym between tony & maria was not dreamlike nor magical compared to the original. It felt empty.

*the number of casts in their respective song/dance numbers were minimal. All or more gang members shouldve been incl.

*it wouldve been outstanding if the movie couldve also have added a song and dance number to the lady jets to know them better.

*this new version shouldve taken its cue from the 1961 movie, instead of the stage play. "i feel pretty" was def better in the orig.

*the opening scene of nyc and the set were more effective in the original. The set production and cgi were not realistic here.

*the ending was also way better in the original. A surprising twist wouldve been a happy ending somehow? Just a thought.

*luv broadway musicals. This was my most anticipated movie of 2021. It just left me wanting more, esp from a great director.
