Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
On a rainy day, I would rather watch grass grow
I truly enjoyed the 1st Rebel moon and thought it had potential to be excellent with the next chapter. I can't even make it through 30 min. It's poorly put together and all over the place. What happened? If you enjoyed the 1st and anticipate the same gripping story line and action with a mix of politics, don't bother- you'll be disappointed just like the rest of the reviews. I'll say this, if you adore bad movies like BATMAN starring twilight...you'll just be captivated by this atrocity. Thankfully it started raining so I can focus on actual entertainments of watching bottles fill up with rain water. Can we make cinema entertaining again? This ridiculous format towards movies isn't working these days and one would think it's such common knowledge, changes would occur.
Road House (2024)
I wanted to like it but...
If you liked Jake in Southpaw, you'll appreciate this movie but it simply does NOT live up to the original. I was a fan of the original but this really felt forced with Conor McGregor. Great fighter, horrible character in this movie- he's an angry condescending Jar Jar Binks. Fight coordinator was fantastic but the movie lacked the ability to capture the essence or struggles developed in the original film with climatic perfectly timed escalations. Essentially with minimal changes, this could've been SouthPaw II NOT RoadHouse. It's definitely entertaining on a rainy day, I just wish they gave more backstory and character development versus unsettling flashbacks and unnecessary love/relationship scenes that came out of nowhere. I'll say this, if you like twilight as Batman, you'll just adore this take on a classic Hollyweird regurgitated cinematic movie.
HellKat (2021)
You must be kidding me, I tried to watch it.
Initially it looked like a solid film and I appreciate the weird but the special effects were horrible along with the fighting choreography. If you subtract that, you're left with a plot parallel to mortal kombat mixed with bad B-rated horror film. It was so bad Nick Cage decided not to do it lol! Could it possibly be better? Maybe but I would rather watch a Steven Segal low budget staring Jean Claude before I recommend this disappointment.
