Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Two Sausages Up
I'm very grad that once in a while a studio like A24 helps a crazy story become reality. This unique movie has action, violence, kung-fu, comedy, drama, wholesomeness, but also a great story, likeable characters and amazing editing. It's hard to talk about it without any spoilers so just go watch it.
Countdown (2019)
Exactly What You'd Expect
Similar to the Final Destination series. It's a cheesy teen horror movie which can help pass the time but there's nothing special or interesting about it.
Violation (2020)
Very realistic and gory, lots of overly long gross-out scenes
Very realistic and gory, lots of overly long gross-out scenes that could have been completely avoided without affecting the story at all. This could have worked a lot better as a short film that could have easily gotten the point across, but instead it's a very slow and not enjoyable movie to watch. Some cinematography and nature scenes were nice so I have to give it a point for that, but the editing was all over the place and did not make it easy to follow or enjoy the movie.
The Rescue (2021)
Really Great Movie
Great documentary about real heroes performing an amazing rescue. A tense watch if you're claustrophobic. It uses a lot of real footage and some good CGI to make it clear just how hard of a rescue this was and how low a chance of success they had despite thousands of people being involved.
Nathan for You (2013)
One of the funniest, most creative shows ever made
Very dry, low key humor that always cracks me up while also making me feel awkward along with the real people on the show. Nathan doesn't break character and is a total weirdo but it's amazing and always extremely creative. Part funny, part awkward, part life changing. Nathan's weird behavior and imaginative ideas combined with great editing make this an amazing show. His talk show story and season 4 finale transcend regular comedy.
