Wonderhatch: Soratobu Ryu no Shima (2023)
A brilliant and true Disney story told by Japanese Live Action and Anime drama
Dragons of Wonderhatch is the most fantastic story I have ever watched in my life. When it was first announced at the end of November 2022 as a Disney+ Japanese original series, it got me interested with the category of a live action x anime hybrid series and I thought it would be good. And I was right! The story was great with the slow buildups to the climatic event of the last episode. The character arcs of Thaim, Nagi, Aktha, etc., were well paced and emotional. As for the anime world of Upananta, it was dazzling from the dragon riders trying their best to save the people as they can during the worlds collapse to learning the truth of the world. Although it should have had more spotlight to learn more about the characters and the world. Anyways, the exciting finale left a couple of clues of the show having a second season, and I can't wait to see more! This is the true Disney magic everyone should have felt as it stays true to the Disney name and Walt Disney should be proud of the team that made the show.
Gundam Build Divers Re: Rise (2019)
A Real Gundam Story in a Gundam Build Series? Amazing!
When I watched the original Build Divers back in 2018, I enjoyed the adventures of Riku and his force Build Divers, like the Gunpla battles, friendship scenes, some little character building and unexpected twists. I really wanted more and when I first saw a glimpse of Re:RISE, I got my wish. Though, I didn't expect the protagonist, Hiroto to have a Gundam that could equip and change armour.
For part 1 back on October, I was hooked on its singular story with some character building arcs for Hiroto, Kazami, Parviz and May, fantastic 'story mission' battles against an enemy force known as the 'One Eyes' and a world with lots and lots of FURRIES. Like Freddie, who summoned these four and called them 'Build Divers'.
I enjoyed every bit of it, but there were some shocking twists in the last three episodes and what shocked me the most was that the 'story mission' the team played was in fact a real world! I was even like, 'they made an actual Gundam story in a Build Series?! Wow!' I even wanted to know what happens next in part 2.
Then part 2 came in April and I really enjoyed the story up to episode 18, when it had to pause production due to COVID, which really sucked. But the I got to watch the rest of part 2 when it returned to screens in the summer. And I really enjoyed it very much.
I watched emotional and heartwarming scenes, learned of tragic backstories on Freddie's planet, Eldora and Hiroto's story in GBN. But I enjoyed episodes when team Build Divers save a player who was possessed by the enemy and destroying their base with a Gaogaigar inspired mech, 'Re:Rising Gundam.' And yes there are many references to other anime in the series.
Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE was so fantastic, I wanted Sunrise to make a Build Divers movie. No joke. I wish more people would watch this show, whether they watched the original Build Divers series or not.
Kidô senshi Gandamu: Suisei no majo (2022)
A spectacular anime for new and existing fans
If you think of skipping this amazing anime, you are missing out all the fun! Part 1 of The Witch from Mercury was a great season, as it is the first Gundam series to focus on school life before escalating into serious events. This anime is a must watch for new and existing fans around the world.
Character development was impressive, including the character arcs of Suletta and Miorine as groom and bride. Not to mention that the series is also involved in the business industry when GUND-ARM was formed in episode 7 and became part of the medical technology in prosthetics.
The mobile suit battles were awesome too! It was nice to see Gundam Aerial getting its chance to shine and amaze us in so many ways, like unlocking the GUND format's 'Permit Score 6' in the episode 9 battle.
The show also did great on its twists and turns like the last three episodes of part 1 turning from school life into warfare. Just like that. I was even shocked at the post credit scene of episode 12 with Suletta using Aerial to 'tomato splat' a soldier in front of her bride.
With part 2 now airing, I'm looking forward to seeing where the characters will go in the aftermath of episode 12.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
An amazing film for the multiverse!
I saw it in an IMAX theatre with my family, and it is the best Spider-Man film ever! I sometimes think that marvel is planning to make a Secret Wars movie with this movie starting a build up.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
Truly Spectacular.
This film showed its promises to the audiences from epic fights between Godzilla and Kong to introducing a guest villain for the final battle. It is absolutely one of the best kaiju films of all time.
