Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Best TV show EVER!!!!
Stargate SG-1 is the best tv show of any genre be it sci-fi, drama, soaps, romance, horror, or any other you could care to think of. Stargate has the lot and does it well for once! The cast are brilliant too! Richard Dean Anderson is just awesome as the show's leading man and so does not look his age!
Amanda Tapping is, as Carmen Argenziano once said, 'A Meryl Streep quality actress' and is absolutely amazing and is totally a great role model for women of all ages! The characters are NOT cardboard cut-out stereotypes but are actually believable ( which is partly due to the amazing acting) but the writers are also fantastic!
I hated the original movie but the series is 1 million times better than that! They deserve a lot more recognition for their work than they get which is a real shame. *sigh* Sci-fi never gets aknowledged just because it is sci-fi!
The Operative (2000)
Cool Movie!
I enjoyed this film even though it was a little slow in parts. The characters were good as was the acting. I liked Vicky coz she wasn't a wimp and unlike the others, she didn't scream when she had a gun pointing at her head. (I lost count of how many times that happened!) I think that Teryl Rothery is a brilliant actress. (Other stuff that she is in that is worth seeing is 'Andre' and 'Stargate the tv series', the latter being v.cool!)
MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis (1994)
Richard Dean Anderson
As a fan of Stargate SG-1, I watched MacGyver to see Richard Dean Anderson. The character of MacGyver is very similar to his current character in Stargate, Colonel Jack O'Neill. He has the same sense of humour, same characteristics and the same attitude towards people. In fact the only difference that I noticed was that Mac is a whole lot smarter than O'Neill. ( More along the lines of the IQ of Major Carter than O'Neill.) Examples of this are that the dialogue was so predictable in parts for anyone who watches Stargate. Maybe it's just me but that's my opinion.
