Stranger Things (2016)
High school horror show that could have been more
I admit that When you watch the first episode, it makes want to watch them all. At the end, you wont waste your time, but you want get some masterpiece of a show that you may be searching for. The casting is very good. I also liked the whole 80s atmosphere that creators want to get. It has perfect soundtrack, something that makes the show more likable. But nevertheless, at the end of it all you get the feeling like it is "Steven King wanna be" movie or "Twin Peaks for kids" or "Darker version of E.T". While you watch it, it brings nostalgia for all that 80s movies. And the creators get that feeling very good. You kinda think that it was really shoot at the 80s. Not the best show on earth, but worth watching. Seven from ten from me.
Lazar (2015)
Ordinary movie for ordinary people
The film is picturing one Macedonian story for the marginalized group of people. In the center is Lazar, young boy, who is struggling between his personal problems, family and moral dilemmas about the job that he works. The film is building its plot slowly, unpretentiously and realistic. The acting and directing are good and at the end the movie will make you think a little about the society where we live. The plot takes place in Macedonia, but it could be also a story about a marginalized group of people anywhere in the world. This is third feature of the director Svetozar Ristevski, after the first one, also Macedonian production "Mirage", and the second, which is Canadian production, "Dear Mr. Gacy". Worth watching. Good seven from me.
High Fidelity (2000)
Simple and very good.
when you have a great scenario, made from a very good book, with a very good director and crew then you've got nothing to lose. its worth to be seen because of the music, attitude, relations, comedy, because of the ranking for five favorite things ( made from the main characters in the movie ) in literally every segment of life: jobs, girls, songs for funerals etc. i think that everybody would like it,more or less...because its funny and you can fill two hours from your time with it. also John Cusack is very pathetic, just like he should be, Jack Black is playing a role that actually will put him up later in his career. the directing is very good made and the whole tempo in the movie will not put you down until its end.also the moments like the appearance of Bruce Springsteen, small roles from Katrine Zeta Jones and Tim Robins make this film something more than a comedy for a man who owns a music store, have a problems with his girlfriend and have laid a lot of good looking womens for his ages but don't know why. actually the movie is far more than that, and maybe every man will find at least something similar with the main character.
