Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins (2022)
Would be higher if it wasn't for the host
Cases are very interesting and coverage of the families and friends stories always adds more depth. Done with empathy and without making it too much like entertainment but the host should be cut out. The amount of times she says "because of my career as a prosecuter/judge" etc is cringey, we're here to listen to the story of the victim, not your C. V.
Das Geheimnis des Totenwaldes (2020)
Gripping
First German drama I have watched and I loved it. Acting superb, heartbreaking to know this is a true story as it really sucked you in and made you feel the emotion and effect the events had on the loved ones over 3 decades. Executed brilliantly.
Jakten på en mördare (2020)
Loved it!
I must admit, I'm usually lazy and scroll past the shows that aren't in English but liked the sound of this and even more so with it being a true story.
Acting and script brilliant, storyline and execution superb. I was rooting for the 3 main detectives and cursing many others, shocking the lack of support they received and how others took the credit for their hard work. Very dark and disturbing but that is the true nature of the events that occurred to the real life victims.
Really enjoyed this series, well done.
Eden Lake (2008)
Terrifying!
Up there with the most brutal and scariest horrors for me
Terrifying and sad at the same time, scared throughout and rooting for the main character.
Don't understand what all the moaning is about. Proper horror is supposed to be brutal, it's what's missing from most horror films these days. Loved it!
Alone (2020)
8/10
Deserves more than a 6.2, acting was great, storyline good. Dont understand the 1 and 2 star reviews, get a grip.
Unforgotten (2015)
One of the best!
I live for crime drama shows and this is definitely one of my favourites! 10/10 for the acting, writing and even down to the music. Just watched season 4 and balled my eyes out, as I have every other season. People complaining that it's a slow burner, that's the difference between an American and a British drama, not getting the whole story in 1 sitting and not OTT storylines, it keeps you in suspense. You start to care about the characters and get wrapped up in the emotions of it all plus it always keeps you guessing til the end. Outstanding!
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
Poor taste
Was looking forward to this documentary and I was very disappointed. Having a sister who is bipolar it was such poor taste not only to document a young girl clearly having an episode but to focus on these "Internet detectives" opinions and conspiracies. These people are not medically or forensically trained, do not have access to the evidence and resources to solve the crime but yet the programme focused on their ridiculous accounts. The one guy who felt he had a right to send a friend to film Elisa's grave riled me beyond belief! I found it really hard to watch, especially with the young man who almost committed suicide due to the abuse he endured over his music from these trolls, hope he is okay if he ever sees this. This documentary really showed wtf is up with the world today!
