Euphoria (2019)
What a letdown but watch it nonetheless
This show has ALL the potential. It feels like a very dramatic American take on the popular British show SKINS which is very good, has aged wonderfully and best of all has CHARACTERS and character developtment! While EUPHORIA is brilliantly acted, directed etc etc however the pacing is soooo sloooow and the glorifying of sex and drugs is honestly exhausting. I love to hear Rue's thoughts and Zendaya definitely deserves the praise and awards but the show doesn't really go anywhere and you don't feel emotionally connected to almost anyone of these characters. There is literally sex in almost every scene, it came to a point where I hit the +15 seconds forward button each time (and I don't mind sex scenes but geeeez enough)... it's like the showrunners think they keep the audience with the graphic sex instead of focusing much deeper into the characters. It's all so extremely shallow and overrated. SKINS made it perfectly clear that unprotected sex and substance abuse IS (for most teens) part of growing up but it's NOT actually cool. The teens in SKINS have so much more to give and tell us and honestly? After watching the first season of EUPHORIA I can only remember three names. Rue, Jules (because that is literally all Rue talks about however the chemistry isn't really there between them in my opinion) and Nate because damn talk about a straight up psychopath. He is so overly dramatic written it is almost laughable. I really can't believe how dumb some of these storylines are... maybe I'm too old for this show (I'm 30) but who was it made for? High schoolers who will most likely copy this behavior and not understand that these characters are way off and in no way interesting or cool.
I WILL recommend it however, to anyone who enjoys great directing and cinematography and I will definitely praise the FEEL that the show gives you. The editing and sound, very very good. That is the only reason I'm going to watch the second season. But to be honest, now I just miss the great chemistry of the cast of SKINS. You should watch it if you like EUPHORIA.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)
The trial of Emily Rose
When you go to watch a horror movie do you really want to suffer through a court room? The acting, cinematography, visuals, editing and sound is far superior to this snooze fest. Wake me up at 3 am and hopefully I will get spooked. Zzz. Don't bother people.
Ojing-eo geim: VIPS (2021)
Such in depth and then..
The show so far has been 10/10 especially with the characters! So much depth so great performances and then the VIPs came with such cringe worthy dialogue and shallow "villains" it's like the showrunners had run out of juice, I can't believe these VIPs are so forgetable and cringe! Everything else was good but damn the VIPs sank the episode DEEPLY.
South Park: Good Times with Weapons (2004)
Hilarious and true to the characters
They really outdid themselves on this one! It stays true to kids being kids and adults not knowing what the hell is going on. Also the scene which the boys explqin what kind of Ninja they are is absolutely great and very distinct to the characters even with butters. The plot twist at the end is great and really speaks volumes! One of the best and my favorite episode! A shame the show forgot it was about the kids in later seasons.
Epstein's Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell (2021)
Too long
This is an interesting story to tell for sure, however they did not have to drag it out to three episodes. They put so much filler in and basically repeats themselves over and over again because the woman is just not interesting but the men around her is, they are the ones with stories to be told. They could easily have made this a 1.5 hour long interesting documentary instead of 3 hours long dragged snoozefest.
