New Zealand needs to come out of the dark ages and diallow animal abuse in films. A horse being beaten and a bull calf being castrated would NOT be allowed in US films. This is unforgivable! Not to mention, how could Benedict Cumberbatch perform either of these cruel acts?
Aside for the animal abuse, this film was boring. Also, I had little pity for Rose, who could have stood up to Phil instead of being so weak. Had she shown some backbone, her sociopath of a son would not have felt the need to resort to murder to protect his mom.
Altogether.an unlikeable film.
