Behemoth (2011)
See it. Blow it up.
Once again the adversary is slain by a lovely lovely American missile. Be it a giant space rock, an alien thingy, an enormous lobster, or, in this case a rock monster from underground pissed-off about the way we're treating the planet.
Effects are better than the worst we've seen, obviously not up there with best.
Awful scene where granddad and daughter are climbing a step ladder to get out - scene is 46.3 hours long, but (phew!) they manage it finally. I wasn't so lucky. Though did enjoy the clevage availability.
Kill it. Blow it up. The central premise to literally hundreds & hundreds of American movies. What can it all MEAN?
American Siege (2021)
Some payday for older Stars perhaps.
A reasonable story marred by, at times, fantastically pedestrian dialogue.
I mean, really slowly delivered, and without an ounce of conviction.
Bruce plays either old or drunk, I've no idea.
Action scenes limited.
The Serpent (2020)
Lack-lustre
Gorgeous female lead. Enormous black SUV follows our heros - 10m behind their car, but they don't notice.
Gunfire goes no-where.
Music swells magnificently to a sort of non-scene.
Plot twists unnecessarily, time frames alter but the story plods and plods.
Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar (2022)
Sunday afternoon fayre
Nothing scintillating about the story, or the characters - but watch it for the scenery, which is simply astonishing.
Towards the end the lead male walks up to and chats with a group of beach-goers, and I found myself wondering why all human interactions couldn't be this unassuming.
