Sasaki to Miyano (2022)
Very wholesome series
The emotions displayed in this anime felt really real and never awkward, just two ordinary people falling in love with no twist or a third person who intervenes in the relationship which makes this series very enjoyable. It reminds me a lot about myself and my feelings for someone I've once had so it really touches my heart. Also this 13 episodes felt long enough to enjoy, I felt like I got to relive my high school years that I wish I would have and that was also really nice. I also like that the interactions are not sexual in any way so this series is very pure and fun. I will definitely watch this again and again.
Shi Guang Dai Li Ren (2021)
Truly a masterpiece!
This series is just too good, it had me crying almost every episodes. Apart from the main characters having superpowers, the stories of each individuals were realistic because these things actually could happen in real life. It makes me sad to think that any of this could have already happened to someone and it's truly tragic. Each person with their own life, their feelings, their hopes and dreams. This series show us how fragile human life is and how certain small actions or miss opportunities could cause future regrets. We also cannot change the past no matter what, what we can do is just to make it better for the future. If we disturb the past, we will disturb the flow of time and ultimately, the future. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi, their opposite personalities really compliment each other. Cheng Xiaoshi, energetic, irrational and has a cheerful demeanor, yet deep down is traumatized by the past. And Lu Guang, who is smart and composed, seems cold on the outside but acutally is the guiding light for Cheng Xiaoshi through sadness and pain. The characters were certainly very well-written. And the series also ended with the most shocking cliff hanger I have ever seen in an animated series. Here's to hoping for season 2!
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Decent film
It is neither bad or good. I would say slightly above average. Like most of the reviews, the first half was very intriguing. But the second half felt like it was missing something, it was lacking something meaningful. The opening scene was a good way to attract the viewers attention because we didn't know what was going on, but the more we watched, the more that opening scene became a spoiler for the film itself. We know that the plane was gonna land anyways, despite how hard it was to find someone who could land it. We know Farid survived along with the little boy, it just gave all of it away. If the film happened in a chronological order then we could have been anticipating how the plane landed, as well as did the passengers survive. It could make us feel worried if something bad could happen but we know things already went well. The ending was also very bland, the boy's mother could have lived and maybe make people realize that monster still has some humanity inside of them. Or the part where she ran at the boy, we could replace it by having another vampire chase after the boy and the mother tries to protect him one last time (she is still conscious and knows that the boy is her son) and then the bomb detonates with a timer, instead of being remote controlled so the boy didn't have to press it and it was her heroic action that saved him. It was a missed opportunity for having a more meaningful ending. But otherwise, the blood and the action scenes are fantastic.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
What exactly is this?
The questions that I had in mind the entire movie was "Why?". The CGI, the acting, the filming were all great but the story? Just no... What the hell happened throughout the movie? We know later that the Earth was polluted but where were the people evacuating to? They had to hide underground so why were they in the North Pole in the first place? The North Pole was the last safe place so why did they evacuate? The mother shouting "Anna" at the beginning had no purposes, but it got us tricked into thinking that she got left behind. I thought Iris was Anna until she drawn a flower to say that it's her name. And throughout the movie, Iris could have said something else other than that one line that she asked him did he loved her mother. She could have laughed more, she could have screamed, she could have done anything, but she was silent, we know for sure she wasn't mute. Yet Iris was just what Augustine imagined in his head, the real Iris is onboard Aether. But there are scenes where it wouldn't have been possible without Iris. Augustine wouldn't have stayed inside the tent that fell into the icy water if Iris didn't poke him to tell him she saw it. Not to mention when the tent was sinking, Augustine prioritized Iris by getting her out first, how was that even possible if she wasn't there? Also, that plane scene was just pointless. Why did it crashed? What happened to the pilot, as well as the guy in the cabin? What was he saying? Why did Augustine shot him instead of helping him? We have no clues... There's just too much to list out that I'm just gonna stop right here. Truly dissapointed!
Ke zai ni xin di de ming zi (2020)
Wonderfully fantastic movie!
The casts of the movie were excellent, they really showed us how the person in that sort of situations would feel and we actually feel empathetic for them. The movie also portrayed perfectly the daily struggles of LGBTs in countries were they are suppressed and unaccepted by society in the past. The feelings of guilt, shame and pain from loving the same gender are felt throughout the movie. As well as, the inability to express their deep love for one another because of the cruelness of society, where friends, family members, the school and strangers look upon their every actions. The movie expanded further those harshness, along with the struggles of LGBT members that they must also satisfy their parents expectations of being able to graduate and become successful in life. But in the end, true love prevailed as the two could finally talk about their feelings for each other in the past. There were also awesome details of people being more open and acceptance to LGBTs in the background at the end of the movie.
As a person who is currently undergoing situations similar to the movie, this movie have touched my heart. It clearly shows that they truly understand us, everything that I went through was almost the same as the characters. The feelings, emotions and intensity are all conveyed perfectly from the beginning to the end. Overall, this might be one of the best LGBT movies I have ever watched.
