High-Rise (2015)
Time for a party, who wants to see capitalism go wildly wrong?
Amazing cast, phenomenal acting, beautiful cinematography but ultimately confusing. If art house style films aren't your thing, skip this. If they are, give it a shot. Ultimately enjoyable. Film has inspired me to read t book it's based on. Basic premise is: capitalism gone wildly wrong.
Heat (1995)
Long but worth it
The classic scene of this movie is when Al Pachino and De Nero are sitting in a cafe having a cup of coffee. Surely one of the most oft quoted and re-re-enactmented scenes of all times. I've been keen to see the whole sequence in context. It was worth it. Never quiet sure how you want the movie to end. Excellent writing and brilliant acting.
I Saw the Light (2015)
All the right stuff but just fell slightly short
This was an interesting film. It had a lot of great content and brilliant actors. Yet there was something about it that ultimately held it back from being truly great. I cannot tell you what that it. If you are a Hank Williams fan or even a Tom Hiddleston fan I would still recommend.
