A boy's best friend is his mother.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a MASTERPIECE Anthony Perkins is a great actor and the role of Norman Bates was a huge success and how the character evolves through out the movie is great. I really liked that Hitchcock killed the main protagonist( in the famous shower scene) and the second half of the movie is about how the death of Marion Crane affects everyone. The end-twist that Norman is actually his mother was insane - I didn't like the ending explanation however - . Janet Leigh was excellent in the whole movie aswell as the Private Investigator(Martin Balsam). Music was through the roof however from all the uses of that music in the rest of the films after that I was almost laughing when it was playing. It was really a great movie

Die Hard (1988)

Die Hard is a movie about an NYPD officer who is trapped in a huge office building taken by German terrorists and he tries to rescue the hostages including his wife. Bruce Willis is great in this film he is really the go-to action hero everyone wanted to be as a kid - saves the day gets the girl kind of guy. I love that the whole movie is just in that one building. The movie is full of bad-ass quotes and action and is just some much entertaining. People think that Die Hard is the best Christmas movie I kinda disagree there don't get me wrong in my opinion this is a masterpiece who I want to watch over and over again but is not that Christmacy. Alan Rickman is a great villain and that film was actually his first Hollywood movie and he was excellent - he has a unique style of acting who makes him different. The most underrated role is definitely that of the cop(Reginald VelJohnson) that talk to Bruce Willis he was the connection to the rest of the world and he plays that role perfectly and actually was a great bromance moments between the two. Its a great film and everyone should see it.

Noone deserves pity.

The Intouchables is film about a quadriplegic millionaire who hires a man who is not suited for the job to take care of him. The film is a masterpiece its funny and really makes you appreciate life more and more. I though if I ever was a quadriplegic I will want Omar Sy to be my assistant definitely. I always think that the worst feeling to have for someone is pity what ever the situation is. The scene most magical scene is at the party of Philippe's birthday - that music by the orchestra was not to dance-to everyone thought that if the music is danceble is going to make Philippe uncomfortable but when Driss decides to dance everyone just started to dance with him and Philippe really was happy despite that he couldn't. The film was based on a true story and ITS A MUST SEE for everyone.

How i saw it.
16 January 2021
The Portait of a Lady on Fire is about a painter who tries to paint a young lady who is about to get married without her knowing. The cinematography deserves a prize the screen was literally a painting the colors were just amazing. Because the young lady doesn't know that the painter tries to paint her she thinks she is her friend and the painter tries to paint just by looking at her while they are together this really get you in the mood to try to visualize her characteristics as well. The movie has no music(except some scenes) and its pretty silent while the dialogues are slow and clear giving you the whole vibe of isolation. I was feeling through out the first half of the movie that I am going to painter her as well and I found my self noticing little details about her. The second half I didn't like it tho when the romance unravels between the painter and the lady I lost the whole excitement about the movie and become a boring romance in my opinion. I found it completely unnecessary . The scenes about the oldshool type abortions where really shocking. I think the movie started well but didn't end well. I recommend it tho I think that some people are going to find it a masterpiece definitely not me.

Not so good
11 January 2021
North by Northwest is about an advertiser Roger Thornhill(Cary Grant) who is mistaken for a government agent and tries to prove his innocence. I didn't like this film at all, maybe the movie is old and I cant really imagine the impact that it had when it was released. This is the first time a saw a Cary Grant film - I am not impressed, especially the scene that he pretends to be drunk is dreadful. He is really plays kinda robotic and without emotion. The romance between him and Eva Marie Saint was kinda unatural. Eva Marie Saint gave a nice vibe to the film. Plot-wise nothing important - some scenes where kinda unbelievable(in a bad manner). Maybe am not getting something or the movie didn't age well but I didn't enjoyed it whatsoever.

I'm asking you to marry me, you little fool
11 January 2021
The story of the Film is about a young woman Joan Fontaine who is not important and marries a wealthy man(Laurence Olivier) who he recently lost his wife Rebecca. He takes his new wife to his big great mansion and the whole film is about how the New Mrs. De Winter is nothing like the old one(Rebecca). The plot was great and it has some great twists. Acting was superb and I really enjoyed everyone especially Mrs. Denvers(Judith Anderson) the Head-Maid of the mansion. The Halloween party and the scene with the dress were really captivating. This film is a classic and I really recommend it.

Good but not a masterpiece
11 January 2021
Se7en is about a veteran cop(Morgan Freeman) and a new in town cop(Brad Pitt) and how they try to catch a serial killer who kills based on the 7 sins. The city has a dark vibe to it andthe screen is pretty much dark all the time and it rains all the time who makes the movie more mysterious. The film has some very intense scenes whenever is a crime scene. Morgan Freeman is excellent as always and Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt(which is bad and good at the same time) however I really liked the movie but in my opinion is not a masterpiece as people say.

Really good

Robert Redford play as Johnny Hooker a con artist who mainly does small scams after Redfords's partner dies he teams up with Paul Newman for a big job to go after the man that killed his partner. I think this is the first time I saw Paul Newman in the screen and I must say am impressed. I really look forward to see more of him. The poker scene was perfect in this scene I was sold. He plays incredible well in this film and he overshadows in my opinion Robert Redford( its not a competition tho, but you get what I am saying). I am not gonna spoil but the film has some nice twists in it. I really enjoyed it and I heavily recommend it.

Flying Kicks

Memories of Murder is about a detective team who tries to solve a series of rape-murder crimes(Its based on a true events). Cinematography was through the roof , every scene was perfectly made. For a crime drama had really funny scenes to it and it was kind unexpected. Through the film you understand how bad is the Korean detectives and you imagine how they even got the job in the first place. The first half of the film(if you cut the rape and murder) you can be really interpret it for a comedy but the second half is when it get serious. I didn't mind the comedy and made it seems more natural I was kinda bored with the American type production crime movies who they are 100% drama. I recommend this film 100% if u have not seen it already you are missing big time. P.S I had to google what the ending was trying to say(maybe I am stupid(i am not)).

The Godfather (1972)

Any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king
5 January 2021
Godfather is about mafia families and how they handle their business. We follow the Corleone family. Don Vito Corleone(Marlon Brando) is the head of family and a very powerful man while his son Michael Corleone(Al Pacino) he tries to stay away from their dirty business. Marlon Brando was excellent in this film every time he was on the screen I was captivated. His facial expressions and his silent dominance is what you expect from a "Godfather". Remember any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king. You heavily see how important family is for a mafia man(and italian also) and how everything revolves around it. While Al Pacino portrays beautifully the son who slowly tries to learn the ropes of the job. The movie has heavy dialogues and the most scenes are people talking then acting for brief moment then talking again I really liked that , its not fast-paced not slow-paced either is just the perfect combination. Music was really good , I feel like if the music was not on point we will be talking for an entirely different movie whatsoever. Definitely a must see.

Prison is about free time and times that you try to feel free
3 January 2021
Shawshank Redemption is a film about prison life and how it changes people that live there. We follow a banker who is accused of murdering his wife and her lover and how he tries to get used to his new reality. The movie has very good narration(classic Morgan Freeman Style). Some scenes are brutal but Frank Darabont used them right, he was not trying to shock the audience but to give what being lockedup really means. The movie shows you how strong routine is and how after being in prison for so long makes it more difficult to live outside than inside. Prison is about free time and times that you try to feel free through some small victories. Personally I believe that Shawshank Redemption succeeds in its purpose but it gave all the answers at the end and I didn't liked that, I wanted to find some of my own. I wanted to let me think if hope is really dangerous or not. Shawshank Redemption is a great movie and I advise anyone to see it, its definitely a classic.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Fun but not funny
2 January 2021
This is the first time I am watching a Ghostbusters movie. I am 23 years old which means that I was born many years after the movie was released(1984) . This is movie is definitely out of my time so I am not really sure if I can evaluate it properly but I am going to try. The movie was fun but not funny. It was TOO MUCH if you understand what I am saying. The plot is that three parapsychologist professors get fired from the university that they work with so they take loan and start a business to catch(busts) ghosts(duh!)(by the way noone in this city seems too upset that ghosts are real). I want to be real with you I loved Bill Murray in this movie and I personally think he is the reason that the movie was such a big hit I cant say the same for the rest of the cast tho. They are too corny for me , they try to much to be funny and they just don't succeed except Rick Moranis's character the only time that I laughed is when he was on the screen. The plot moves really fast and it didn't make any sense whatsoever. The romance between Bill Murray's character and Sigourney Weaver's its too linear(she doesn't like him then he becomes famous now she does) . The phrase "don't cross the streams" will be in my head for ever for some reason. The movie was made to make people laugh(i didn't) but some people will , maybe am not the Ghostbusters type of guy. Music was a big one, I don't know if liked the main song (Who you gonna call.. GHOSTBUSTERS) or I am to brainwashed from all these years that I am hearing it from the other type of media but I really REALLY liked it. Overall I didn't enjoy the movie so much but I can get why some people do.
