John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA (2024)
Best talkshow ever with the kind of musical guests you actually WANT to see!
A truly nostalgic and heartfelt talkshow with the types of musical guests one doesn't simply get to see on any tv show (Weezer, Warren G, Beck). The host, John Mulaney, is a mixture of boyish charm, spontaneous giggles and talent at steering the conversation. One of the guests compared the show to a fever dream which i must say in an adequate analogy. Really hoping to see more seasons from this show though i might not be in luck since according to Mulaney it's a one-timer.. Special mention to whoever made those nostalgic interludes and the opening theme+video. Kudos! Wish you guys slay at the Emmys!
The Humans (2021)
NOT a horror movie :(
My streaming service marketed this is drama/horror. The horror component is completely missing. It is a slooooow drama. Waisted 1.5h of my lift waiting for the horror part to kick in. The movie is about a family enjoying a thanksgiving dinner at a young couple's new dingy flat. Sometimes you can hear a loud thud sound and they say it's coming from the flat upstairs. At some point they go abd tell off the person making the noise. This is when I figured the movie would switch to horror but no. Only scary thing about this film is the time you wasted watching it and will never get back.. Avoid........
Bo Burnham: Inside (2021)
And I thought he could never cap the finale of his last special.. Silly me!
Possibly one of the best specials out there.. Scratch the possibly.
Highly intelligent, though at times the overthinking is too visual. Any overacting is forgiven since the end result is glorious!
Possibly my favorite piece of art at the moment.
Wish there was a director's cur of "unpaid intern" out there but no such luck 😭
Hope he kerps on making his art. The pieces are too few and far between but for a good reason. They are all sublime.
The Wretched (2019)
To other parents out there: they kill a baby in this one :(
It is an innovative scary movie and I love those BUT the scene where they film a baby monitor with a baby asleep and evil eyes glowing in the background hit too close to home for me. After this they kill off said baby. Saw this maybe half a year ago and still expect to see eyes glowing in the dark when looking at our baby's baby monitor. Beware!
Love, Death & Robots: Pop Squad (2021)
For parents: they kill toddlers in this one 😢
I wish they had a disclaimer for adults about kids getting murdered in movies.. I think many parents would appreciate.
Pinkfong and Baby Shark's Space Adventure (2019)
Only thing that calms my baby
Got a superenergetic baby boy who hates the tv (as he should) but sometimes mommy needs 5 minutes of quiet.. that's when Pinkfong comes and saves the day. I've seen it roughly 8 times.. and even I'm not fed up with it!
Underwater (2020)
Booooooring.. and why are the women in underwear at the end?
Boring movie. Scifi/horror is my favorite genre and this movie lacks horror and the scifi is nonexistant. Be prepared for many endless scenes of people trying to get places fast. Monsters are few and far between. And for some reason at the end of the movie both actresses are in their undies whereas the only surviving male is not.. Why?
