Pepsi, Where's My Jet? (2022)
Way too long........
This 4 part documentary begins good, it's a ridiculous story of some rich white kid with his rich old white friend trying to claim a military type aircraft from a badly advertised promotion by Pepsi Cola. Ok fine. Now we have to endure everybody's past lives and how they all met and love to go mountaineering and flying and every other thing wealthy people love to do. At this stage you're hoping Pepsi don't bow down to these ambulance chasers.
But then, we see this other promotion Pepsi staged in the Philippines 4 years before this story. It's this story that deserves to be a documentary, people lost their lives because of another Pepsi promotion fiasco, and Pepsi literally washed their hands of it. The victims of the promotion unable to afford to take any action against the Pepsi
Sadly it's only given a brief mention before we're back listening to these guys harp on about lawsuits, and potentially blackmailing pepsi. But my head was stuck with the many victims in the Philippines,it's horrendous how this happened. So as soon as we come back to main story I lost total interest. The two main guys are unrelatable, and just super annoying. The old man Todd or whatever is introduced to us like some huge celebrity we should know?!
I quit during the 3rd episode I've no idea of the outcome nor do I care!
Disturbing the Peace (2020)
Box office receipts says it all!!!
I wasn't two minutes into this when we see Guy Pierce imitating recoil as he fires his airsoft pistol?!
I understand having guns firing real blanks is expensive and requires a lot of safety instruction, but for gods sake that's how they used to do it?! Look at the gun battle in Heat, would that have worked with digital muzzle flashes an cg bullet hits? How much do they really save by using cgi in gun fights? In my opinion it really lets a film down especially if it's an action movie. Just so you know I'm not bible bashing gun nut. But I do love a noisy aggressive gun battle in my movies, with star patterned muzzle flashes and rivers of brass being flung out of the ejection ports!!
Btw this movie itself is an abomination, Mr Pearce WTH?!!
Anyway, I just read this stinker cost $5 million to fart out!!! $5 mill? Where was that spent?
The best part is this film took a shade under $50 grand in its entire worldwide release, need I say more??
In the Electric Mist (2009)
I made it through it!
Just kidding, I lasted 32 minutes. It started out ok but I had to turn up the tv as I couldn't make out what the hell they saying to each other! 10 minutes in I lost interest in the main character TLJ, his facial expression looked frozen, once again he plays the same bitter seen it all cop/fbi/cia good guy bad guy, I hated his character from the get go. Then John Goodman turns up as a loud mouth wise guy, yawn, again I think I've seen him play this role several times before? Anyway, I couldn't make head nor tale of the story and while I debated whether to continue watching TLJ's face appeared on screen with the same frozen dead eyed stare and I figured he doesn't even want me to watch this piece of crap, and zap I killed it. A non entity of a movie. 10/10 for the burger I just ate!
Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
I give up
Is this the end of stand up? Is Bill sinking into early retirement? Apart from the face lifted jaded Jimmy Carr I've never heard of the rest! The musical number at the end is so bad it has to be seen to be believed, you can literally see the realization in the singers eyes that he is dying on stage!
Cringy uncomfortable unfunny. Such a disappointing mess of a show, Bill must have received a monstrous amount of cash for this, travesty! Save yourself tell others to avoid it and spare a thought for those of us that fell for Bill's name on this heap of nothing.
Get Smart (2008)
$80,000,000 ?!
This pile of clichéd tripe cost $80 million dollars to produce. Think about that while you wait for something funny to happen!
I like Carrel, but not here.
Space Force (2020)
2nd and last season, fingers crossed.
I endured the first season out of pure boredom, I managed 2 episodes of the 2nd and no more!
How can you go from The Office to this?
I do like Steve Carell, but not here, this is awful. It's not funny, the characters are uninteresting and dull, just like the shows premise. Add in a political slant and you've lost most your audience, myself included.
But don't take my word for it, watch a few episodes and I'll keep an eye out for you in the reviews.
The Chemical Brothers: Elektrobank (1997)
Superb
Interesting to see Francis Ford Coppala's daughter pretending to be a gymnast along to the superb Chemical Brothers track. The ending in particular sticks in my mind, the story behind the anonymous black and white photo in a dusty window. Love it.
Backcountry (2014)
A decent indie movie.
I liked this film, kinda hard to watch certain scenes. I didn't read the synopsis first so I had no idea what to expect and as a result I was pleasantly surprised. Character development was adequate and my vote goes to the female lead. If you like outdoorsy movies you should like this.
St George's Day (2012)
Such a shame : (
This should have been good, I liked Frank Harper in Lock Stock..Even though he'd written, directed and annoyingly narrated continually , he looked as if he'd zero interest in acting in his own film?!
I expected the usual gangster cliches but jeez Louise , you can literally guess the next line!
Such a waste.
Explained: Sugar (2021)
So sugar is good for you?
I assumed this was an exposé on the damage sugar and all it's derivatives were causing. It touched on the issue but in the end, sugar is basically good for you, just take it easy on it?!
The narrator's voice is rather monotonous and almost condescending. 4/10.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)
Dire!
I got to the scene where Will is running about on the track thinking he's on fire, and that was enough for me. I paid 50 cents for this dvd, and I feel ripped off!!
I do like Will Ferrell but this was just mind numbing.
Unfunny from the start, unlikable characters. Why would Baron Cohen consider a role like this? He's gone down in my estimation.
The funniest part was reading these comments describing this as a masterpiece?! Yes maybe a masterpiece in advertising revenue!
This horrible movie appeals to no one apart from certain commentators on this forum!
Avoid at all costs.
Breach (2020)
The best worst movie
I'm giving this 10/10! If you're looking for an appallingly bad movie here you go! No wonder Bruce drank his way through it!!
Sabotage (2014)
Mein Gott?!
Before you consider watching this abysmal flick just checkout the lead characters names, Pyro, Tripod?! Monster, etc. while Arnie was never loved for his acting abilities, this movie exposes just how bad he is. Don't get me wrong I love Arnie, but in this he is terrible, sorry Arnie. As for the rest of his 'team' who seem to be bloodthirsty drug and alcohol fueled thugs. You can't identify with any of them and end up cheering when they get killed off. Every American soldier/warrior/brothers in arms cliche is here. Grotesque unnecessary violence abounds, I made it to what I thought was the end before I turned it off out of shear boredom only to realize there 48 minutes of this drivel to go! I should have realized how crap this was going to be as soon as I saw the brand new box fresh airsoft weapons that the entire cast used. Arnie please don't end your career with this muck, you're better than this!
The Liberator (2020)
Hurts the eyes!!
A cheap way to knock out a war movie. Couldn't get beyond ten minutes, the filters are too eye straining. Anyone that places this alongside Band of Brothers is out of their tiny minds. BOB is a timeless masterpiece, it represents the ultimate sacrifice and the unholy horror of war! I will agree this movie was a bold attempt but unfortunately the filters dominated from the opening scene and I could not see beyond that.
Arkansas (2020)
Avoid at all costs
I had considered turning this off after 20 minutes but I thought I'd give it a chance. Big mistake, this movie is pointless, the acting is subpar and the soundtrack is full of obscure tracks that neither fit or compliment the film. Talk about miscasting, none of the characters are likable, The story line just doesn't add up, and the chapter titles are just so cliche'd. This movie is just numb with no redeeming features, even John Malkovich is awful, and Vince Vaughan?! Cliche hipster garbage!
