Not a very Disney-esquire moment...
23 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I've always thought that The Suite life is a light hearted kids show about the adventures and miss-adventures of the twins. But as I was watching it one day I almost couldn't believe what I had just heard. The bell-boy was talking to either London or one of the twins (this was ages ago...explains why I can't remember!) and said something along the lines of 'I will chop it up carefully (piece of food) not like they did with my vasectomy. I tell the ladies it's a shark bite!' Is that something you'd expect to hear on a Disney kid's show?? OK, so kids have no idea what it means, so why put it in there? I can't help wondering now how many other comments have gone unnoticed in many other kids' shows...

Drake & Josh (2004–2007)

Pretty good
7 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not too sure why people are complaining that the show is all about teens and teenage problems, what else is it going to be about? Nickelodeon is a kid's channel, so you won't find sitcoms like Friends or Scrubs on it. Yes some plot lines are unrealistic and ridiculous but that's one of the things that makes it good. Wouldn't it be abit boring if it was more like a soap? From a kid's point of view it's funny, Drake is someone the fans want to be (although not the best role model). Josh is absolutely ridiculous, but that makes it funny too. My brother wants to be just like Drake, and to my annoyance tries to bribe me into letting him have a go on my guitar, but he wants to learn something new and be creative, surely that's a good thing? And although Josh is made out to be uncool and abit of a nerd, but his cleverness has proved to be cool at times. There are small lessons hidden within the stories, like the value of friendship. All in all the show's absurdity is what makes it funny and a good show aimed at kids and pre-teens - not adults expecting comedy worthy of Jim Carrey.
