House M.D.: Daddy's Boy (2005)
Cameron ruined this episode
Why is she so obsessed with House? In what world is it ok to so blatantly interfere with your boss' personal life? And then his friends just go along with it? They went on one date and I was really happy that so far the show dropped a story line of them together because he is her superior. The mystery with father and son was a good one but I was so distracted by Cameron and her smug face. She is such a good actress and I can only hope that they make her character better in future episodes or she gets fired for being so meddling. Nobody reads this many characters any more. Why do I have to keep going on in this review?
Apples Never Fall (2024)
Good mystery..tired of the message
It's great acting and format but I'm tired of the mom is so unappreciated andost her life because of kids. I have two kids and I have a career and hobbies! Can we stop acting liking being mom steals everything from you? It's insulting. Frankly the main character, beautifully portrayed, is awful and can't see how she is in the wrong. Now that being written I'm halfway through the final episode so maybe this will change as more comes to light but the over all attitude from the mom makes me think it's surprising how wonderful her kids think she is. I'll say this...it did make me consider being a con artist if I can have that house in the mountains.
The Bear: Braciole (2022)
Love this show but....
I love this show, but I'm waiting for Sydney to also understand she is not always right either and apologize. The girl stabbed someone, had ideas that were to big and because he said no at the time he just wasn't listening. I don't understand why he doesn't also to teach her to listen. But honestly other than that...I love the characters in this show even the ones I love to hate. I guess I just want to see Sydney's learning journey along with everyone else. Feel like that make her character a little too perfect. But I haven't seen it all so we shall see what happens in season two. Which I will probably binge in a day and then be really sad when I have to wait for season 2.
The Age of Influence: Fiber Feud (2023)
Is this a joke?
So I had never heard of this issue on Instagram but seriously Emily and her husband are a joke. I actually hope Tanya wins her lawsuit because these "influencers" do need to learn you can't just post unjustified claims by anonymous sources. And then selling crappy merch? Also interesting looking at their insta pages. While Emily has 100k more followers her engagement is super low which is a red flag. Tanya on the other hand has less followers bt much higher engagement. Makes me think she is buying followers or living off her short surge from this contraversy. Seriously fiber does not hurt people and apparently the other lady did get fired. So I wish they had put more of that background.
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
Welcome back!
So like everyone else I've been waiting for this sequel and was pretty worried. I will say the first party was ok but once we get into modern day, loved it. I also feel like like they struck the right balance with the message of the movie and not annoyingly preachy like some recent programs. The new girls played well off eachother and we're good to watch but the real magic of course is the Sanderson sisters. These three ladies made my adult cynical self actually enjoy and clap during a Blondie cover. Even my husband and kids enjoyed it. I have to force my kids to watch the original with me every year ( I know I'm a monster) but this one delighted them too.
Love in the Villa (2022)
Cheesy romance
I mean you should know you are getting cheesy romance and if that's your mood...go for it. Yes the characters are not the best but maybe they will make eachother better? My biggest issue were the pranks at the beginning. Because honestly they were highly dangerous to one of the people and just laughed off. While the other person got off pretty mild and it was like the worst thing you could do to someone. Once you get through that...the scenary is gorgeous, the music is great, and some of the boys were cute. I would rewatch letters to Juliet over this one of you are looking for a story set in Verona.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Torn on this one
I think I would have liked this series if I didn't know it was loosely based on real life events. I am really tired of criminals being glamorized and knowing Rachel's character was criticized more because she has a signed deal with HBO than the real facts bothers me.
If the reporter was really like this (which Anna says she wasn't) then I can see why journalism has become biased wasteland. Rolling your eyes and laughing while people are testifying in court, not very professional for a reporter on the case.
Laverne Cox was the best in this series and really hope that she portrayed her character accurately because she was amazing and we all need her in our lives.
Billionaire Boys Club (2018)
Supposed to feel bad for the boy?
I watched a documentary about the BBC so thought it would be an interesting watch. Here is the thing, levin was a crook, but so were the "boys". This movie tried to make Joe so sympathetic and he wasn't. He was a scammer just like Levin. I hated this portrayal of a convicted murderer. And then really...during the climactic scene with Levin that is how it was decided it all happened.
***SPOILER***
JIm Pat was not a good guy either, but to make it seem like it was just his doing was really awful. Give me a break.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)
Ummm...I don't think it was a goat
Only relatable thing in this series is a need for a burrito. This just makes me want to watch the movie. And enough of tick tockers being a personality type.
Respect (2021)
Amazing grace
This movie blew me away. I was lost in Jennifer Hudson's performance. Yes you won't get the whole story like an episodic tv show, but to see someone dare give the performances from every cast member a three is an absolute heap of dog crap. This movie will stay with me and I cannot wait to own and watch on repeat.
