This little movie is a warm, loving, funny movie full of hope and faith from a 7 year old child in a time of World War. They don't make them like this any more, plain acting NO special effects. You can't find it on any type of video, though I can't imagine why, with all the trash being brought out today. If you can catch it on one of the movie channels DO NOT MISS IT; grab something warm to drink and some tissues.

In the 50's, grade schools had the children participate in bomb drills. So when my cousin and I went to see the movie (a double feature with cartoon of course), the thought that people from a far away world were concerned that the earth was playing around with weapons that could destroy all life and possibly effect other worlds, well we didn't sleep for a few days. Of course, we went to see the film two more times to make sure that "Gort" had really left the earth! Even when it is on cable today, I'll still sit and watch the entire movie, just to make sure the robot gets on the ship. This is the stuff SIFI is made of!!!
